About this property

In the most idyllic setting is Port na Mine, a very special holiday home with breath-taking views of Loch Etive and Glencoe beyond and its very own track from the garden down to the shoreline. Five miles from this tranquil location is Taynuilt while Oban is only 15 miles away.

Sleeping twelve guests in six bedrooms with six bathrooms, this spacious home is beautifully situated for holidays with friends and family. A track from the garden leads straight to the Loch shoreline where a stunning walk along the Loch awaits, as well as a boat jetty, perfect for picnics in the sunshine. Behind the house are 30 acres of stunning landscape where ancient woodlands and rugged hills are waiting to be discovered.

Although Port na Mine boasts a secluded loch-side location, many of Arygll’s popular destinations are easily accessible. Sharing the forestry track that leads to Port na Mine is the well-known Inverawe Smokehouse and Shop which has also a café, visitor centre and many trails and walks through the park’s woods. The village of Taynuilt is just five miles away where local amenities include an excellent grocer, butchers, tea room and hotel with restaurant. The 9-hole Taynuilt Golf Club has wonderful views of Loch Etive; while the Bonawe Iron Furnace is a popular local attraction. Slightly further afield is Oban which can be reached in approximately 30 minutes’ drive where you'll find a good range of shops, restaurants along with ferries to the Hebrides.

For smaller groups, Port na Mine is also available to book with use of just three of the bedrooms, accommodating up to six guests, click here for availability and pricing.

Additional Information:

Underfloor heating in the sitting room and adjacent bedroom.

Additional electric radiators in the ground floor bedrooms.

Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).

Travel cot and highchair available on request.

Guests are requested to use the steps and path by the house to the left of the front door rather than using the gravel sloping drive as access. This driveway can become slippery in wet weather.

Please note the access to this property is via a rough forestry track, so please take extra care.

Children must be supervised in the garden as there is a small garden pond at the back of the house.

There is direct access to the Loch via a track through the garden. Guests are advised to take care along the banks of Loch Etive and the rocks are steep and slippery.

Please note that stag and hen parties are not permitted at this property.

The neighbouring property has access rights to take boats down to the Loch through the grounds of Port na Mine (additional charge including use of slip way and buoy). Please note, this is at guests' own risk and the owner cannot be held liable for any damage to boats. When boat access is selected with your booking, access information for the gate to the slip way will be provided. The slipway can accommodate up to a 7m RIB.

No welcome hamper, mice in a bedroom and dampness on the ceilings. Otherwise very comfortable and a beautiful location - along an unmade up road.
