The town is offers two supermarkets and independently owned shops, excellent hotels and restaurants offering the finest local produce. This is a yes and no review. Yes, the location is superb. But it is carrying a lot of weight. The accommodation is fine, if slightly basic. It is comfy though. The electric oven is like all electric ovens and is slow to cook things. WiFi is very slow and the TV relies on it. There are no local amenities close by, and require a 10 to 15 minutes drive. So make sure you have all your necessities. Maybe it was just the week we had, or it was the location, but we were plagued by flies all week. The beach is stoney but nice, with seals and birds, and rock pools to explore. Big sandy beaches are just 5 minutes away.Overall it is a quiet location far from the madding crowd.
