Guests consistently praise Darach Cottage for its cleanliness, stunning location, and comfort. The property is well-equipped, offering a peaceful retreat with beautiful views and a large paddock for dogs. Owners John and Sue are commended for their friendliness and helpfulness, enhancing the stay with their local knowledge and hospitality.
The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being 'spotless' and 'very clean'. One review mentioned cobwebs and dead insects, but this seems to be an isolated comment in the context of overwhelmingly positive feedback.
The location is highly praised for its tranquility, stunning views, and proximity to local attractions. Some guests found it a bit remote, but the majority enjoyed the peaceful setting and the natural beauty of the area.
Comfort is frequently highlighted, with guests finding the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. There is a mention of an 'old, uncomfortable couch', but overall, guests seem very satisfied with the comfort provided.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage described as well-equipped and having everything needed. However, some guests noted the access track's condition and one mentioned dated aspects, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance.
While guests frequently mention the owners' helpfulness and friendliness, there are no specific references to gifts or special thoughtful touches that could be expected by future guests. Therefore, a score cannot be provided for this category.

The stars at night were breathtaking too. No light polution and the stars againstcthe mountain was picture perfect. The cottage was clean, warm, and just big enough for 2 adults and our labrador. The grounds were beautiful and with a 4 acre gated and fenced off paddock to let the dog off for a run (with stunning sea views). It was perfect. Weks of heavy rain has tsken its toll on the access track which follows the hill up yo the cottage. If you take it steady and slow then it is easily accessed. Its typical road surface and farm tracks that come with the pursuit of isolation. Overall Darrach was a fantastic base for us to re discover the Arrgyl and Bute region. John (the owner) was a gentleman and nothing was too much trouble. Couple that with the fact i had common interests as him. Aviation and carpentry. He even uses tge padock as a landing ground for gis model aircraft which he builds himself. It made the stay more than just a rental. Very friendly, clean, warm and stunning place and we will return.
