This Visit Scotland 3 star graded cottage is dog friendly with enclosed garden, home to a wide variety of wild birds, nice and cosy for 2 but also large enough for 6 people. Located in a peaceful private rural setting, overlooking an old hard tennis court, which may be used by prior arrangement with the owners, it has fine countryside views to the south and east. This modernised cottage is adjacent to the stunning tidal Tarff estuary, which supports a wide variety of wildlife and can be viewed from the 2008 footpath to Tongland Bridge and Kirkcudbright.
Ideally placed for exploring and enjoying the beautiful varied nearby coastline and beaches to the south and to the north; the attractive hills and forests for bird watching, fishing, picnics, sailing, cycling, walking and water skiing. The picturesque harbour fishing town of Kirkcudbright, 'The Artists' Town', is 2.5 miles and provides, amongst other things, art exhibitions, galleries, eating out, golf, fishing, library, medical centre, pubs, indoor swimming pool, specialist shops and vet. The very popular Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities, including the Thursday pipe band evenings, provide some of the many highlights of the year in Kirkcudbright.

Glenauld Cottage is let weekly Saturday to Saturday with short breaks (for a minimum of a 3 night stay) accepted outside high & peak periods. During July & August short breaks may be possible, please contact us with your requirements.
For any 2 or more consecutive weeks booked, a £50 discount will automatically be applied (cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer)

This was our 2nd visit to Glenauld cottage and it was just as good as we remembered from last year, with the extra bonus of biscuits and cake! The cottage has everything we need, including a nice big enclosed garden for our active golden retriever, and is in easy reach of lots of nice walks, forests, beaches etc. I'm sure we will be back for another visit soon

A spacious cottage with a delightful garden and river walks from the door. Perfect for my elderly dog and for me too! Kirkcudbright is a friendly and colourful town with plenty to see; and the surrounding countryside stunning and varied from coastal to mountain scenery. I've stayed here twice in the past few months and there are still loads of places I haven't seen. A great excuse to return!

Fourth time here and already booked for later in the year. Owners are just lovely. Very friendly and helpful. We feel they have become friends. The position of the cottage, is perfect for us. Close enough for a short drive or a reasonable, picturesque walk into town but far enough away for peace and solitude. We love the area and the cottage. Great for dogs because of the enclosed garden and closeness to the path for the riverside walk into Kirkcudbright. There are several sandy beaches close by.
