Enclosed courtyard and garden with garden furniture and BBQ. Bike and equipment store. Private parking for 2/3 cars. Salmon and trout fishing by separate arrangement. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a spring.. Gardener’s Cottage sits peacefully in the heart of the historic Bargaly Estate. As its name portrays, Gardener’s Cottage was once the home of the head gardener to this estate, owned by the famous horticulturist Andrew Heron and dates back to 1675. Newton Stewart is within a 5-mile drive and here is the gateway to the Galloway Hills which are every bit as challenging as some of their more loftier neighbours in the north.
important information - Palnure Burn River is 50 yards away in the grounds, care to be taken with young children.additional information - Zip and link twin beds in the 2nd bedroom can be made up to superking at time of booking. Natural water supply from a spring. Property will only accept small dogs. Salmon and trout fishing by separate arrangement.additional charges - First basket of logs for the woodburner is free of charge, remainder at cost.

A place to unwind, watch the wildlife. You can find inner peace here.. The stillness of the location without any noise from cars. Not far away the forestry visitors centre with lots of walks for the dogs. Wigtown - the Scottish book town and an amazing wool shop. Great butchers shop in newton stewart. And we saw only a little of the estuary.

Wow what can I say loved this place I am.in remission from cancer so this was the perfect place to just chill out and watch the amazing wildlife including pine martin badgers red squirrel 🐿️ nuthatch,tree creeper jays woodpeckers and many other and not forgetting the amazing white roe deer,the hosts are truly amazing very helpful and just generally really nice people a nice welcome pack, cottage was spotless all the you need for a chilled out holiday loads of local walks for all you don't even have to go out just sit by the window and admire the wildlife only advice is take loads of peanuts and suet to keri the wildlife coming and bring in the bird feeders at night or the badgers will take them lol such a peaceful haven ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and even our show cocker Spaniel Couper loved it

Enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Total peace and quiet. The wildlife is unbelievable. Would definitely return. Owners were very helpful and friendly. Cottage was comfortable.
