Guests say

The Hayloft is a cosy, converted farm building set in a peaceful rural location, ideal for couples or individuals seeking tranquillity. Guests have praised the cleanliness, the comfortable furnishings, and the welcoming hosts. The hot tub with countryside views is a highlight, although access requires crossing a farmyard. Some guests noted discrepancies with property photos and facilities, but overall experiences were positive, with special mentions of the friendly farm animals and the relaxing atmosphere.

The property is consistently described as spotless and well-maintained, contributing to a high cleanliness score. One issue with a shower drain was reported but promptly resolved.

The location is appreciated for its lovely rural views and tranquillity, especially from the hot tub area. However, the property itself does not offer views and requires driving on single-track roads, which may not suit everyone.

The property is generally found to be cosy and comfortable, with a particularly comfortable bed and underfloor heating mentioned. One review noted the property was smaller than expected, which may affect comfort for some guests.

Facilities are well-regarded, with modern amenities and a private hot tub. However, some guests were disappointed by differences between the photos and actual facilities, and issues with maintenance were raised, affecting the score.

Guests mentioned a lovely welcome pack and a farm tour, indicating thoughtfulness from the hosts. While these gestures are appreciated, it is noted that such extras are subject to change and not guaranteed.

The photos are not a true reflection of the property and the facilities provided. The downstairs area is not as large as it looks in the photos and the hot tub, whilst it does say it is 25m from the property the photo suggests it’s at the bottom of the garden, not that you have to cross a working farmyard in your swimsuit. This was a much smaller property than the photos show, I’m assuming the staircase has been built since the photos were taken and reduces the size of the lounge significantly. There is a much smaller 2 seater sofa in situ and no television in the bedroom as shown in the photos. The extractor fan in the bathroom does not work and there is no form of heating in the bathroom which meant the towels were permanently damp. The shower did not drain properly from day 1 and got worse as the week went on with dirt coming up from the drain. I did eventually report this and it was sorted the same day but it should’ve been sorted for us arriving. The ‘private’ hot tub area has no under cover area for getting changed therefore if you want to use the hot tub you have to cross the farmyard in your swimsuit. The location is fine with lovely views from the hot tub but getting there is an issue. There are no views from the property itself and it is not a comfortable property to sit in. We left a day early as we couldn’t face another night in the property. I will not return and would not recommend. Very disappointed

The Hayloft is a lovely cozy converted farm building. Its ideal for 1 person or a couple. Its beautifully presented and well appointed. It offers everything you need including fridge, microwave, smart TV, small but comfortable couch. Lovely bathroom with large shower cubicle. Under floor heating sets adds to the ambience. Set in a very rural location, so be prepared to drive on single track roads with passing places, and you need a car to get to the local village.Perfect base to travel further afield with Troon and Ardrossan ports 40 mins or so away offering ferry trips to Aaran. They're are private hot tub facilities across the stable block with stunning rural views. The host is very friendly and helpful and is easy to find throughout the day, whilst working.Highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for peace and quiet and is happy to be off the beaten track.
