About this property

Cupar 1 miles. The Barn, Lower Lodge, is an appealing single-storey cottage on the outskirts of Cupar in Fife. Perfect for couples seeking a remote retreat boasting lovely rural vistas, a Smart TV and an open-plan design. Pull up and park the car, opt to park outside your abode or open up the garage door. Before entering, take in the fresh countryside air and stunning farmland views. Enter into the bright and harmoniously designed living space housing a kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Bring the kitchen to life with the aroma of home-cooked meals courtesy of the oven or hob, then settle in for supper at the welcoming dining table underneath the skylight.

Once plates are cleared, pop them in the dishwasher, take your pick from two plush sofas, then let the Smart TV provide the evening’s entertainment. Freshen up in the polished shower room filled with natural light from another Velux window, with a fresh set of clothes warmed by the towel rail. After your outdoor adventures, you can head to the garage to chuck a wash on, or refuel with a snack that you have stored in the fridge/freezer here. Retire to the elegant super-king-size bedroom and rejuvenate, enjoy a lie-in with the morning sun peeking through the Velux windows. Outside, enjoy a romantic meal on the patio with uninterrupted views of the countryside.

The Barn, Lower Lodge, provided a stunning base for a romantic getaway in Scotland. Perfectly positioned for golf lovers, this charming retreat is just a short drive from the world-renowned St Andrews, the “Home of Golf.” Whether you're walking in the footsteps of legends on the Old Course or discovering the town’s rich history and coastal charm, Lower Lodge offers the ideal base for your stay. Each day promises memorable outings when holidaying at Lower Lodge. Note: This property can be booked with ref. 1177999 together sleeping 6 guests.

Enveloped by rolling hills, positioned alongside the babbling River Eden, in the historic county of Fife, is the picturesque town of Cupar. It retains much of its medieval character, including a number of historic buildings; the Hill of Tarvit, an Edwardian mansion is well worth the visit. Owned by the National Trust for Scotland since 1949, the house contains an impressive collection of 18th-century Chippendale and French furniture, as well as Chinese porcelain and lovely Dutch paintings. The Scottish Deer Centre nearby covers over 55 acres of greenery, with 13 species of deer from around the world, Fife's only wolf pack, otters, and other rare Scottish breeds. The park is simply beautiful and makes a superb day out with guided tours, woodland walks, nose-to-nose sessions and birds of prey demonstrations, along with so much more! The town offers a bustling hub of shops, pubs, and eateries as well as an interesting mix of old and modern buildings. There is an excellent Golf Museum, an aquarium, a cathedral, and a beautiful botanical garden. The Fife Coastal Path also beckons with gorgeous scenery. You can start at the Firth of Tay and journey on a wonderful walking experience to the Firth of Forth in the south. Pass through small fishing villages in East Neuk, across award-winning beaches and rugged cliffs on an adventure you won't forget in a hurry. Choose Cupar as a base for your next holiday in Scotland, for a much-deserved break.
