Curlew Croft offers a peaceful retreat with stunning sea views and a private, dog-friendly garden, making it ideal for families and pet owners. Guests consistently praise its tranquil location, well-equipped amenities, and proximity to beautiful beaches and local attractions. While some mention minor cleanliness issues and an older bed, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return. The cottage provides a comfortable, home-from-home atmosphere, and thoughtful touches from the owner have been appreciated.
Several guests noted that the cottage could be cleaner, mentioning dust, a dirty fridge, and the need to clean on arrival. However, most felt these issues did not detract significantly from their stay, and the positives outweighed the negatives.
The location is highly praised for its peace, privacy, and breathtaking views of the sea. Guests loved the proximity to beaches, wildlife, and local attractions, with only minor notes about the distance to shops and the beach.
Guests found the cottage comfortable and homely, with only one mention of an old, lumpy bed. The enclosed garden and open fire added to the comfort, especially for those travelling with dogs.
The cottage is described as very well equipped, including features like EV charging and comprehensive local information. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, but overall, facilities met or exceeded expectations.
Guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as the owner checking in during a storm. While no gifts were mentioned, the attention to guest wellbeing was noted. Please note that such gestures are not guaranteed.

This is a lovely cottage; comfortable and well equipped, however, it wasn't as clean as it could have been. The fridge was particularly dirty. The views are amazing and it is close to Wick and John o' Groats. It's not as close to the beach as the information states; it's a good walk along a main A road. There were a couple of folders with lots of information about the birds and local area but I have never stayed in a place where I've been expected to replace all consumables I used and do the cleaning. I was a paying guest not the maid service!
