The Northern Highlands us a wild place, and Morven View has an aspect looking out over the interior towards the highest peak in Caithness.
Here you are just a couple of miles from Dunbeath village and only two miles from the coastline and a charming beach at Dunbeath Bay. Morven View offers the best of the Highlands, with mountains one way, dramatic coast the other. The owner can recommend some wonderful things to do in and around Dunbeath, as well as suggest brilliant itineraries around this fantastic part of Scotland. Morven View is excellently placed for a tour of the North Coast 500 northern section, situated close to two of the roads that cross the interior over to the north coast.
As well as having the characterful fishing villages of Lybster, Helmsdale and Brora close by, the town of Wick is not far away and John O’Groats a little further with dramatic Duncansby Head well worth a visit. The drive across to Cape Wrath is sublime, and the off-the-beaten road via Altnaharra or Kinbrace is a true Highland highlight.
Morven View is an excellent choice if you want to experience the less discovered Scottish Highlands, and have countless points of interest to enjoy. A family or group of friends are sure to love Morven View. Beach 3 miles. Shop 2¼ miles. Pub and restaurant 2½ miles.

Elspeth and William were amazing and really did everything and above to make our stay as comfortable as possible. As someone who has spent my life travelling to the area to visit family, I can honestly say you will never find anywhere else better to stay in the Caithness area.

We recently stayed at Morven View in Dunbeath and honestly couldn’t have asked for more. The house is pure luxury from start to finish, with stunning views from every single room. Waking up each morning and sitting by the fire pit with a coffee, taking in the peaceful scenery and beautiful sunsets, was such a highlight of the trip. One of our favourite moments was spotting a family of deer nearby while relaxing at the house — it made the whole experience feel even more special and peaceful. The hot tub was amazing after a long day exploring, and every detail in the house has been thought of to make your stay perfect. The hosts were more than generous and made us feel so welcome throughout. It truly has everything you could wish for in a getaway — relaxing, luxurious and unforgettable. We can’t wait to return!
