The place is lovely but the cottage itself needs updating bathroom kitchen floor cracked tiles grout missing. The bed settee in the lounge needs replacing not very comfortable. New mattress needed in main bedroom as you can feel the springs when laid. A more modern tv in the lounge .Garden bench to rear is falling to pieces and dangerous. Overall the place is a little tired have stopped in upper flat and lower both require some TLC it wouldn’t stop me rebooking due to location but I think as it was my go to property in the past I may start looking elsewhere only due to attention to detail not being very good . If the owners read this please inject some money into the place it’s a gem and could be a gem inside also.

This is the first rental we have gone to which has left us so disappointed. The building itself is beautiful, however the garden and interior is so dull and in huge need of an upgrade. We spoke with the man who maintained it within the first day and he mentioned it had been owned for 17 years but not much had been done. He said the 2 lounge chairs had been a recent change but they were clearly not new and the seat part totally collapsing. The kitchen and bathroom were very tired and in need of an upgrade. The plinths were missing in the kitchen and we could see that no cleaning had been done for quite some time there. The bathroom had badly applied silicone and the seal at the bottom of the shower screen covered in silicone too. The towels left out included bath mats instead of hand towels. The maintenance man was around the property on a few occasions along with another woman using a shed in the back garden to apparently do washing for other properties which European canals manage in the area. He also arrived on the Thursday and walked around the garden stopping and discussing the window while we sat relaxing. I ended going out and he was with the owner and I advised I wasn’t comfortable with them being there while we were renting. She said she was the owner and said they would go and leave us in peace, however as this was the 5th time either the maintenance man or someone else had been around the property in that week. We have never been so disappointed in a holiday let.

This cottage is lovely right next to the canal. Cafes shops all close to hand. Which is handy as I have walking disabilitys with arthritis in my hips and spine. Everyone in the village is so friendly.. The cottage is lovely we were here in March and now 2 weeks in June and booked for October and Xmas and new year. The caretaker is so helpful nothing is a problem for him extremely hard working.
