Pine Marten Lodge is a well-presented and immaculate property, offering a serene setting with wildlife sightings and a range of activities nearby. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, comfortable furnishings, and the hot tub, which adds to the relaxing experience. While some guests encountered maintenance issues, the overall sentiment is positive, with many looking forward to returning.
The majority of guests found the lodge to be immaculately clean, with only a few instances of cleanliness concerns such as soiled bedding and a shower mat needing replacement. These appear to be isolated incidents rather than a trend.
The lodge is praised for its peaceful setting and proximity to local attractions and wildlife. However, some guests noted noise from a nearby road and the property's visibility, which slightly impacted the perceived seclusion.
Guests generally found the lodge comfortable, especially the living area and fire. However, there were comments about uncomfortable beds and insufficient seating for larger groups, which affected the comfort score.
Facilities like the hot tub and kitchen equipment are highly regarded, but several maintenance issues such as a non-working dishwasher and lighting problems have been reported. These issues seem to be addressed by the owner when possible.
While many guests mention the owner's thoroughness and the lodge's well-stocked amenities, there are no specific references to gifts. Therefore, it is not possible to score thoughtfulness based on the presence of gifts.

The lodge is so cosy and very spacious with a lovely log burner and very comfortable beds. The host was very helpful and great at communicating promptly. We loved exploring the local area and there are so many walks and places to visit nearby. We particularly enjoyed visiting Loch Uaine, Loch Vaa and Loch Garten. We also hiked up Ben Macdui, Cairn Gorm and Bynack More. There are also lots of restaurants within a short distance and we particularly enjoyed visiting the Pennybun and Rowantree restaurant (both dog friendly). It snowed while we were here and the hot tub was the perfect way to warm up after a day adventuring. The lodge overlooks beautiful grounds and we really enjoyed watching the red squirrels and birds. We canât wait to visit again!
