It is situated in a quiet backwater on a no through road close to the centre of Portree. Taigh Mhairi (Gaelic for Mhairi’s house) is named after the owner’s mother whose ancestors have lived on Skye for many generations. The property boasts a large lounge/dining room with an attractive open fire as its focal point. The pretty bedrooms and bright modern kitchen and bathroom all combine to offer a beautifully presented cottage with a real homely feel.

We really enjoyed staying in this cottage. It was an excellent base for exploring Skye. The cottage was warm and welcoming and we particularly welcomed the toasty shower after a day exploring.

Nice bungalow in a great location, had everything you need including a garden with small seating area.Had everything you need to cook and wash clothes, decent size fridge comfortable beds and really nice walk in shower.Only small gripe, both front and back doors could do with updating as they are a bit dated.
