This is a lovely place that feels like a real home, not a standard rental outfit. It is very spacious, with lots of period furniture and fittings. The beds are very comfortable, the showers and bath are super. It is well equiped and the kitchen dinner is a great space, well thought through and great to cook in. The house is set in spacious garden, with lovely views over the loch. There are cosy spots for reading, two good big tables for eating and playing games with the family . There are walks nearby, along the loch is nice and it we enjoyed exploring over the hills, the old drovers track and Kirkton old village. The spar and the garage down the road have lots of provisions. It is worth knowing that Tesco will deliver as it is quite a drive to many places; this is a part of the charm of the location, but worth planning for.

We had a wonderful week here. The view over loch was beautiful and the house has a lovely combination of older features and all the conveniences needed. There were only the 2 of us so it was more than big enough, however this would also be the case with a larger group being able to be together or have some separate space at times with the different seating / dining areas.

What a beautiful house! We have stayed in many, many cottages over the years (and we own our own holiday let cottage) but I’d have to say I think this is the best. Beautifully situated, overlooking the loch and reasonably central for the Highlands and Islands. The house is extremely well appointed and was immaculately clean. Communication with Claire was excellent. I would very much recommend Lochcarron Lodge.
