With accommodation all on one level (apart from a few stone steps down from the parking), it sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms, and is especially well suited to families or couples seeking peace, coastal views, and dog‑friendly features. It’s also within walking distance of the local Inn and outstanding local food.
Set less than a mile from the charming once fishing hamlet of Stein, guests will find Skye’s oldest Inn —the Stein Inn—alongside Skye’s only Michelin starred Loch Bay Restaurant. From the slipway you can enjoy boat trips and whale, dolphin and sea bird spotting in Lochbay and beyond. Also locally there are some wonderful craft galleries, including Scotland’s only surviving tannery. Waternish retains an unspoilt character, where stargazing, shoreline walks and slow exploration feel anything but touristy. Essential shops are in Dunvegan (around 7 miles away), while Portree, the island’s main town, is approximately 22–24 miles away, providing access to larger amenities.

Auld Mission Cottage welcomes up to two well behaved dogs. No charge involved. The front garden is not enclosed but there is a small enclosed area at the back. Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. There is no mobile signal, but the cottage has a landline. Disabled access can be arranged (please enquire).
