Located just off the main road through Whiting Bay, and accessed via a short, steep hill guests will be greeted with breathtaking views across the bay and towards Holy Isle. Ardbeag is great for families and friends with two living areas making this a spacious property to enjoy a holiday. The main living room with its large bay window is perfect for relaxing and taking in the views. The smaller living/dining area also has large picture windows which also capture the fabulous views. A dining area allows guests to enjoy meals together and catch up on the day’s activities. The en-suite first floor bedroom has amazing sea views across Whiting Bay and towards Holy Isle. The cottage is well-equipped and has a lovely homely feel to it, whilst the large lawned garden provides space for children and dogs to play. You are only a short walk from Whiting Bay with its bar/restaurant, bistro, coffee shop, post office, convenience store, newsagents, pharmacy, golf club, children’s play park, bowling green and beach. A great place for families and friends to enjoy a self-catering holiday on Arran.

Our fourth holiday at Ardbeag but sadly our last...as a dog friendly cottage we have never expected 5 star, but sadly basic maintenance is lacking and has become worse over the four years we have visited. On arrival there was a damp smell in the downstairs bathroom which never alleviated the shower sealant is heavy with mold, and theres mold spots on the ceiling above the shower cubicle. I was in no way surprised to find a damp meter in one of the drawers. The hole in the front bedroom floor, which was there last August is still there, I appreciate its not an easy fix, as the carpets will have to come up, but I dont think its something that should just be left. As others have indicated there are issues with the kitchen cupboards which need addressing. Issues with the windows. We had problems when the gardeners came the first week and cut back some of the bushes but just left all the cuttings where they had dropped...that Saturday someone came to inspect the property and reported the garden issues...gardeners returned the next week and cut things back and removed the cuttings..however this time they left lots of equipment overnight on the lawn in front of the house, far from ideal not to mention dangerous. The mattress in the upstairs bedroom is well past its best and needs replacing..We are gutted that this was our last stay in Ardbeag as it probably has the best location on the Island..but the yearly prices increases are not justified when basic upkeep is so lacking

The property has been neglected since we were there 3 years ago. There's a smell of damp in the downstairs bedrooms. Black mould on one of the bedroom walls. A lamp was broken in one of the bedrooms. The downstairs shower sealant was black with mould and had a huge spiders web hanging from the ceiling extractor fan that didn't work. Most of the window latches in the dining area were broken. There's a large mark on the wall near the front of the dining room,that was there 3 yrs ago and still hasn't been painted. The kitchen cupboards had a damp smell, and one of the door hinges was loose. The laminate is also lifting from the cupboard doors. The gardens 3 yrs ago were well kept, but now it seems only the grass gets cut. The boarders are all overgrown with weeds and the patio area is covered with moss and loose paving, the hedges left to overgrow. Such a shame the property and gardens have been neglected. The house needs decorating and the damp sorting out. The cleaners need have more time to throughly clean this property. There is a 7 hour window from guests leaving to the next ones arriving. Think only the basics get done. The owners need to get a better gardener or pay them more to maintain the whole garden. Fortunately the view from the house remains the same, beautiful. The island didn't disappoint. Lots of things to do and see. Great places to eat.

Really lovely cottage in fantastic location.There was loads of space, very well equipped, beautifully decorated and with lovely local paintings. The views were amazing and it was only a short walk down to the shore where we watched otters in the morning and evening.Arran is very beautiful and there are lots of lovely walks and places to visit.
