Guests say

Larch Cottage in Aberfeldy is highly praised for its comfort, warmth, and ideal location for exploring the local area. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, powerful shower, and cosy atmosphere, particularly noting the upside-down layout and scenic views. The property is also commended for its suitability for outdoor enthusiasts and dog owners.

Most guests found Larch Cottage to be spotless and well-maintained, with high-quality provisions. However, a few guests mentioned minor cleanliness issues such as cobwebs and kitchenware that needed additional cleaning, slightly affecting the overall score.

The location is consistently praised for its proximity to Aberfeldy, local attractions, and natural beauty, making it an excellent base for exploring. The nearby pub and historical Weem add to the appeal, though some noted increased traffic due to road closures.

Guests frequently mention the comfort of the cottage, highlighting the warm and cosy atmosphere, comfortable bed, and underfloor heating. The spacious living area and powerful shower also contribute to the overall comfort.

The cottage is well-equipped with a variety of cooking equipment and a drying room for wet gear. Some guests suggested minor improvements, such as updating the sofas and addressing maintenance issues like the toilet cistern and heating system instructions.

While guests appreciated the facilities and some mentioned thoughtful touches like milk and biscuits on arrival, there is not enough consistent information about gifts to provide a score. It should be noted that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

Good communication from the hosts around check in process. Disappointed with the cleanliness, lots of cobwebs throughout the property (some which had large families of spiders living in them) and dishes required to be washed prior to use. We understood the property was dog friendly prior to booking and brought our own dog with us but didn't expect to find as much dog hair everywhere upon check in. The living area clearly hadn't been hoovered, we found pieces of copper metal on the floor which were a danger to our dog. The bed linen was clean and comfortable. However I would recommend future guests bring their own towels as the ones provided were very small and had seen better days. The bathroom was surface clean but again would benefit from a scrub.Feel the property overall is in need of a deeper clean between guests in order to make a stay here more enjoyable.

The cleanliness and facilities provided were superb. We would definitely stay here again.

The rustic feel, complemented with sympathetic furnishings enhanced the warmth, comfort and overall cosiness of the cottage. We would have loved to stay for the full week, as there was a plethora of walks from the doorstep, including The Weem forest trail, The Birks of Aberfeldy and off road walk into Aberfeldy (The Watermill bookshop & cafe is excellent). There are many dramatic Munros nearby & incredible scenery, in every direction. We would absolutely recommend Larch Cottage and will definitely return. Thank you!
