Lawned woodland garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Bike store. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced stream in the garden, 20 yards away and an unfenced pond 150 yards. Sorry, no hen, stag or work parties.. Just a few minutes walk from the pretty conservation village of Denholm with its village greens, good pubs and a restaurant, this spacious cottage is privately situated near the entrance to the owner’s home, which is ¼-mile further on. Set in mature woodland and a small stream bordering the open garden, it’s an idyllic place for children to play and explore, or for others to simply soak up the peace and tranquillity. Bright, welcoming and comfortably furnished, this is a great base for discovering the lovely Borders region. Kelso and Melrose have lots of interest with Floors Castle, Mellerstain House, ancient abbeys and an array of independent shops and good places to eat. Minto Golf Course is just ½-mile and there is fishing on the River Teviot and the River Tweed. There are hill walks aplenty nearby and cycling on quiet roads, or head for the Glentress Forest to get your adrenalin fix. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Wonderful cottage, fabulous owners. Really enjoyed our stay at Melgund Lodge, great secluded location but a short (0.7 mile) walk into Denholm which has 2 pubs, 2 cafes and history. The cottage is nicely equipped and very clean, everything is quality, bedding, towels etc.The location is ideal for exploring the borders, recommend Melrose, Jedburgh, Kelso, avoid Hawick.

We are a family of 5 with 3 young children and the house was perfect. The house had all that we needed.Wonderful, friendly hosts who made us feel very much at home. We really enjoyed the canny walk around the Melgund Glen and exploring the glorious local countryside.We would love to come back.

We had a fantastic time at Melgund lodge. Everything was perfect, from the beautiful fresh flowers in the lounge to the lovely welcome package of local farm tomatoes and selkirk bannock. The house was exceptionally clean, with very comfortable beds, and the peaceful surroundings made it a wonderfully calm and relaxing stay. we were delighted by the abundance of wildlife, spotting, deers, bats, rabbits and lots of beautiful birds during our stay. Melgund Lodge is ideally located for exploring many interesting places, and the local pub/restaurant was also lovely. A truly wonderful stay-thank you for making it so special!
