The proximity to shops, restaurants, and scenic walks, along with views of the Abbey, add to its appeal. While some find the decor and furniture basic, the cottage's character and the convenience of its location are consistently highlighted as positives.
The majority of guests report the cottage as clean and spotless, with only a few mentioning issues such as mould in the shower and the need for a deeper clean in certain areas. Overall, the cleanliness is well-regarded.
The location is highly praised for its centrality in Melrose, proximity to shops, restaurants, and historical sites like Melrose Abbey. The convenience for public transport and scenic walks is also appreciated.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, although some reviews mention the living room furniture and lighting could be improved for comfort. The historical nature of the cottage may contribute to certain limitations in this area.
