Guests appreciate the easy beach access, the well-stocked local shop, and the enclosed garden, perfect for pets. The sunroom is a highlight, providing a serene spot to enjoy the scenery. While some guests mentioned the beds could be more comfortable, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many expressing a desire to return.
The cottage receives high praise for its cleanliness, with multiple reviews highlighting its spotless condition and first-class maintenance. The attention to cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort and appeal of the property.
The location is consistently lauded for its proximity to the beach, stunning views of the Isle of Arran, and the tranquillity it offers. The convenience of a local shop and nearby attractions like Culzean Castle add to the location's appeal.

Nestled in the seaside village of Maidens, Ayrshire is this fabulous, single-storey, semi-detached holiday cottage, Rothiemay. With sea views over to Culzean Castle and Aran, along with plenty of home comforts, this delightful home makes a perfect base for a family or two couples. On arrival, off-road parking greets you, before stepping into the kitchen/diner, the ultimate space for whipping up a family meal. From here, make your way to the sitting room, where a Smart TV rests for your entertainment, as well as a telescope for taking in the picturesque sea views and sunsets. Moving through the property, two well-presented double bedrooms offer a place to rest your head before a day of walking, and on your return, a sleek shower room with an impressive contemporary design provides you with somewhere to rinse off the day. Enjoy your morning coffee with a view in the conservatory, or out in the garden while your canine companion gives their legs a stretch on the lawn. If you don’t fancy cooking one evening, head to the local pub and hotel for a delicious meal out, or pop to the nearby convenience store to stock up, or post a postcard to your loved ones at home. There is a fantastic selection of attractions in the area, along with a wealth of coastal walks; head to Turnberry Lighthouse for yet more gorgeous views, or in the opposite direction, up to Swan Pond, a favourite among animal lovers for its natural beauty. A popular tourist spot nearby is Culzean Castle, an opulent and stunning piece of architecture to explore, and for gentle strolls, the Dunure Labyrinth Park and Garden. Into Ayr, you will find plenty of eateries and pubs to treat your loved ones to, followed by a walk along Ayr Estuary; animal lovers will also enjoy a visit to Heads of Ayr Farm Park! Whatever the weather, Rothiemay makes a lovely base for a picture-perfect break to Scotland. EPC Rating: Band D
At the south end of Maidenhead Bay in Ayrshire, this fishing community overlooks Arran, Ailsa Craig, and the Mull of Kintyre. Robert the Bruce landed here after sailing from Rathlin Island in Northern Ireland after his spider experience in the early 14th century. The Earls of Carrick lived in Turnberry Castle, now a ruin. With its mediaeval dock, large beach, two restaurants, and closeness to Turnberry and Culzean Castle, Maidens is a popular tourist destination.
