Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy log burner, and enclosed garden, making it ideal for dog owners and walkers. While the cottage is comfortable and spacious, some mention it is a little dated and could benefit from minor maintenance and brighter lighting. Firstly, the location is amazing. Killin is a fantastic village, there’s lots of amazing food places and the community is obviously strong. The Secret Pizza was especially amazing for fish and chips! It’s centrally based to access both the East and West Highlands and this is the reason we chose the cottage. The cottage itself, was not as we thought. Based on reviews we expected it to be a little rustic and the WiFi to be slow. However, the WiFi was unusable for more than one person and (even though this was not a big factor in the end) the tv wouldn’t stream any films or programs. Considering phone signal was not the best this did present some difficulties, especially as everything is online to research now. The cottage has not been updated in a long time. The carpet is extremely worn, even scratched out in places and desperately needs replacing. We knew the bathroom was downstairs and that was fine, however it was not mentioned that the stairs were extremely steep and curved (wider at one side, which switches halfway up). Again, we are 3 adults so it wasn’t a problem but I feel that anyone staying with children needs to know this. The kitchen was lovely and the little ‘bothy’ room at the back was so cozy! The garden is secured which was a major plus! This is a great base to do some exploring of the Highlands and do some Munro walking but please be aware of the reality of the cottage.

Even though the cottage needed a refurb it was immaculately clean, very well equipped, very comfortable ( great bed!) & a fab location

Charming historic, comfortable cottage with a nice garden and small conservatory. Be aware they're serious about the narrow winding staircase if you have any mobility problems. Lovely walks from the front door and glorious views over to Ben Lawers and of the Falls of Dochart.
