In a delightful rural setting close to Anglesey’s west coast, Hen Dy Goits is bursting with charm, character and history. Sitting in the grounds of the owner’s home, it was once the coach house to the islands main post office from where the post was distributed across the whole of Anglesey. The cottage has been skilfully converted, and boasts a beautiful handcrafted Welsh oak staircase and a bespoke pitch pine kitchen along with a lovely enclosed garden. Perfect for year round breaks, with its cosy multi-fuel burner and wildlife-friendly sunny gardens back and front, Hen Dy Goits is also within easy reach of award-winning and surfing beaches, as well as a host of visitor attractions including a sea zoo, Beaumaris castle, Plas Newydd (National Trust), Trach Mon racing circuit and lovely boat rides to spot puffins or fish. Anglesey is a paradise for walkers and cyclists with miles of peaceful country lanes to explore and its whole 125 mile coastline is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Aberffraw’s unspoilt, sandy beach and estuary, the Newborough Warren Nature Reserve and the romantic Llanddwyn beach are all close by. Day trips to Ireland are easily accessible from the port of Holyhead and a myriad of outdoor pursuits and stunning mountain scenery are just a half hours drive away in the Snowdonia National Park. Beach 2 miles. Shop ½ mile, restaurant 5 miles.

It was my first time visiting Anglesey properly and its safe to say I have fallen in love with it! Hen Dy Goits was a perfect accommodation for me and my dog. The location is perfect for lots of close by day outs. The accommodation had everything you could need. My dog loved it and was most importantly a safe place for her. I dont think the previous bad reviews were fair as yes the place has its quirks but all together it fits the vibes perfectly. I only got back yesterday and very tempted to book it again for next year!I also had a bit of car trouble and the owners helped with no hesitation.Thank you for a great week!

I must say we were a little apprehensive going to this property as there have been a few negative reviews lately, we must say we were very much surprised in a good way. Yes the patio garden is a little overgrown but it's mainly wild flowers and is in keeping with the style of the property, and also our dog loved sniffing and rummaging through the undergrowth. The cottage itself is lovely, slate flooring, bespoke kitchen cabinets, windows, doors and stunning staircase all add to the homely charm of this place. The rear garden which IS secure but possibly if you have a large dog you may need to keep an eye on them (could maybe do with just raising the wire fencing to cover the top half, but a fantastic place for your dogs and also the decking area is a beautiful sun trap in the afternoon. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, shower and bathroom was lovely. Main bedroom was fantastic. Yes there is a little dust and a few cobwebs but again if you look at the building itself and look at the history of what it was before renovating, you can overlook a few cobwebs. Its lovely and quiet at night, beautiful to stand in the garden and star gaze at night. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights here and would happily return, oh an almost forgot the lovely welcome package we recieved when we entered, home grown veg and salad items, homemade jam and lovely bottle of red wine and some doggy treats too. I want to give a really fair review because we did have a lovely holiday and enjoyed our stay.The cottage is lovely, well laid out and very spacious. Everything we needed was there, we forgot to bring a couple of things but they were provided at the property so it wasn't a problem. You could literally turn up with just your clothes and not need to bring anything else. The owners really have thought of everything. The mattress was very soft which is great if you like it soft, but that's personal preference, the bedding and bedrooms were clean. The stairs are a beautiful feature. The kitchen had everything we needed but really does need a good clean, we had to wash all crockery and utensils before use and things like the knife block needed a wipe down. The worktop needs some TLC but that's the problem with wooden worktops and water. The bathroom had a very strong smell of wee, I gave the toilet and the floor around it a good clean which improved it but it quickly came back.The grassed garden was lovely and the dogs enjoyed running around in it, however I did find some dog poo which was left by previous people. I picked my dogs poo up as I went along so knew it didn't belong to them. The front garden was very overgrown which is great for wildlife and my dogs love having a good rummage around the overgrowth, we were even treated to a hare munching away on the weeds. Thank you for our stay and cleanliness aside, we enjoyed ourselves, the board games and outdoor games were also a lovely touch. I left the property as clean as I could, unfortunately the hoover provided wouldn't have been efficient enough for our hairy dogs so I apologise for any pomsky glitter left behind.
