In a delightful rural setting close to Anglesey’s west coast, Hen Dy Goits is bursting with charm, character and history. Sitting in the grounds of the owner’s home, it was once the coach house to the islands main post office from where the post was distributed across the whole of Anglesey. The cottage has been skilfully converted, and boasts a beautiful handcrafted Welsh oak staircase and a bespoke pitch pine kitchen along with a lovely enclosed garden. Perfect for year round breaks, with its cosy multi-fuel burner and wildlife-friendly sunny gardens back and front, Hen Dy Goits is also within easy reach of award-winning and surfing beaches, as well as a host of visitor attractions including a sea zoo, Beaumaris castle, Plas Newydd (National Trust), Trach Mon racing circuit and lovely boat rides to spot puffins or fish. Anglesey is a paradise for walkers and cyclists with miles of peaceful country lanes to explore and its whole 125 mile coastline is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Aberffraw’s unspoilt, sandy beach and estuary, the Newborough Warren Nature Reserve and the romantic Llanddwyn beach are all close by. Day trips to Ireland are easily accessible from the port of Holyhead and a myriad of outdoor pursuits and stunning mountain scenery are just a half hours drive away in the Snowdonia National Park. Beach 2 miles. Shop ½ mile, restaurant 5 miles.

I spent a very happy week at this magical cottage. It is well equipped with almost everything I needed. It's in a lovely location and very peaceful. Plenty of secure outside space for my dogs. The underfloor heating and log burner were fabulous in the cold weather. Will definitely be back next year.

The cottage is a solid fine. Not super clean but fine if you’re not allergic to dust or feathers. The garden is also fine if rather unkempt. There are some lovely features in the cottage. The staircase is beautiful & the provision of some homemade jam & other basic supplies was a nice touch. The issue is that the owners don’t seem to like having visitors very much and as such I felt rather on edge & didn’t really relax the whole time we were there. This was followed up by a rather passive aggressive message afree left informing us of alleged damage of which we were unaware. We did break a glass & I informed them of this straight away. We’ve done dozens of cottage holidays all without incident but we just didn’t feel very welcome here. I’d never, ever go back there & to be honest it’s soured memories of Anglesey which is a place we’ve previously loved.
