Situated in a quiet, rural part of Anglesey, this cluster of detached holiday properties are located at Melin Newydd windmill, which has been featured on Channel 4’s ’Restoration Man’ with George Clarke. The Windmill (ref 29567) has a lovely living area on the ground floor and a double bedroom on each of the first and second floors, from where a steep, space saver staircase leads up to a third floor living room with a balcony and fabulous views out over the surrounding countryside. Full of original features oozing character, The Windmill has been the subject of a simply stunning restoration, which makes this a cosy and quirky place to stay. Owl Cottage (ref 29569) features a conservatory living room, with picture windows opening to the fields, and two gallery bedrooms, whilst The Top Barn (ref 29568) is another barn conversion with lots of original features. These three properties are just a 10-minute drive from the delightful sandy beach at Rhosneigr - indeed, with 125 miles of coastline on the Isle of Anglesey you’re never far away from a beach or rocky cove to explore. A short distance away is the rspb reserve at South Stack near Holyhead, whilst children will love Foel Farm Park or Anglesey Sea Zoo at Brynsiencyn. The NT mansion of Plas Newydd is well worth a visit, as is pretty Beaumaris with its castle, whilst the mountains of Snowdonia can be easily reached back on the mainland. Beach 5 miles. Shop and pub 3 miles, restaurant 5 miles.

Well…where does one start… we opened the door and there was a lovely fresh fragrance and nice to be left a cake and some milk… However, the lounge area was not too cleaver… the sofa was old and tired, the feet were falling off and you kept on falling in between the cushions. The windows were dirty and needed a good clean and the blinds were also dirty with one blind in particular full of dead flys…The sleeping arrangements were too difficult for my wife to access…In the end we had had enough and came home a day early…The land was not dog friendly and had no secure areas to let the dogs out on there own… Very disappointing!

Lovely Stay in a gorgeous part of the world. The cottage could just do with a few adjustments. A few maintenance checks but it was in a great location with great surrounding for a peaceful stay.

We had a lovely weekend at Owl Cottage. We were after a quiet weekend away from everything and this was perfect. A cute little cottage, quite remote, but we were surrounded by nature with cows on one side of the cottage and a horse on the other. Lots of rabbits and birds too. Took the dogs to Newborough and Lligwy Beaches which we would highly recommend.
