Ystabl is a charming, cosy cottage in a peaceful rural setting, ideal for dog owners and those seeking a relaxing break. Guests praise its well-equipped kitchen, enclosed garden, and thoughtful touches for both humans and pets. The location is tranquil yet within easy driving distance of beaches and attractions, making it a great base for exploring South Wales. While most found the cottage clean and comfortable, a few noted minor maintenance issues and occasional noise from nearby buildings. Overall, the property offers excellent value and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with several specifically mentioning cleanliness on arrival. However, a few reviews noted issues such as mould on bathroom tiles, cobwebs, and some kitchen items needing extra washing. These were occasional rather than consistent concerns.
The location is widely praised for its peacefulness, beautiful surroundings, and proximity by car to beaches and attractions. Guests appreciated the rural setting, though most noted a car is essential. A few mentioned some road noise outside, but this did not detract significantly from the overall experience.
Guests generally found the cottage cosy and comfortable, with warm interiors and good beds and pillows mentioned by several reviewers. Some noted the beds were not very comfy and the radiators needed bleeding, but these were not universal issues.
The cottage is described as well-equipped, with a fully stocked kitchen (including an air fryer), washing machine, and thoughtful extras for dogs. Some minor suggestions for improvement included more comfortable sofas, mattress protectors, and a dishwasher. Maintenance issues such as noisy radiators and missing tea towels were mentioned by a few guests.
Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with milk, Welsh cakes, tea, and dog treats. While these gestures were frequently mentioned, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.
