Walkers and cyclists will love the easy access to the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, while closer to home, you could stroll the wooded parkland of the Gelli Aur (Golden Grove) estate (1.5 miles) or visit the National Trust’s Newton House and the ruined Dinefwr Castle (5 miles). Anyone interested in history won’t want to miss the Bronze Age burial cairns of Tair Carn Uchaf, 8 miles, and the unique Roman gold mine at Dolaucothi, 17 miles. Carreg Cennen Castle, one of the most famous and picturesque in Wales, is 6 miles away. For a little retail therapy, head to Llandeilo, 4 miles, or Ammanford, 8 miles.
