Take the stairs up to the first floor, all set under high, sloping ceilings, to find the two gorgeous bedrooms. The first, a bright and spacious king-size (twin on request), boasts a pair of armchairs facing the glazed doors that look out over the veranda and garden. The twin room is also airy and bright, with pretty linens and a Juliet balcony. Also on this floor is a sleek second shower room. A covered outdoor seating area adds to the choice of places in which to relax, and there’s also a picnic table and electric BBQ for you to grill some local delicacies and dine in the fresh air. The reverse side of the boundary fence is secured with stock fencing, providing an additional layer of enclosure. You’ll have private parking for three cars.

Located in Cwrtnewydd, the cottage is 4 miles from the small market town of Llanybydder and 7 miles from the larger Lampeter, which has plenty of independent shops, excellent cafes and a farmers’ market. Mynydd Llanllwni (Llanllwni Mountain) is just 9 miles – a recognised Dark Sky Discovery Site offering incredible views for walkers and cyclists in the daytime.
