With Ferryside Beach just a stroll away (approx. 150 metres), you’re well-positioned to experience a peaceful seaside retreat when staying in this darling dog and family-friendly cottage. The 150-year-old Welsh cottage accommodates six guests amongst traditional features and homely interiors, ideally suited to a restful break for friends or family. Whilst you can stay close to home, enjoying the café and pub that sits opposite the beach, you are also well-positioned to explore the rest of South Wales’ offerings, including the coastal Gower AONB (24 miles), Carmarthen (10 miles) and the enlivened city of Swansea (24.5 miles). Leave the car at home and reach the latter destinations via train.
Exposed brickwork, low beams and aged wooden floorboards add to the overall charm of this historic cottage. On the ground floor, you’ll find a separate living room and dining room, ideal when a handful of guests want to watch a film by the open fire and the other half want to embark on a fun-filled games night. Everyone can come together in the dining room at mealtimes, enjoying dishes prepared in the kitchen at the back of the house. Also at the rear, find a landscaped garden with an elevated patio and seating area. Back indoors, three bedrooms are to be found upstairs, one with a garden view and two others with splendid sea views.
The quaint seaside village of Ferryside is just 4 miles from Kidwelly, a pleasant market town with a historic castle, a local gallery and a handful of eateries. A little further away is the larger town of Carmarthen, home to a heritage castle, a fascinating local museum and the Gwili Steam Railway (11 miles) for train rides around the fabulous Welsh countryside. Also close by is the National Botanic Garden of Wales (17 miles), a wonderful day out in the sunshine.
