Stambar is a beautifully renovated and spacious cottage, praised for its modern comforts, well-equipped kitchen, and luxurious touches such as reclining sofas and a hot tub with scenic views. Guests consistently highlight the secure garden, making it ideal for dogs, and the thoughtful welcome packs. While the property’s location on a main road provides easy access to local attractions, some guests note road noise and privacy concerns. Overall, Stambar offers a relaxing and comfortable base for exploring South Wales, with most guests enjoying their stay and recommending the property.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with fresh bedding and towels provided. A few reviews mentioned minor issues such as bath mats with bleach stains, a tea towel with holes, and some concerns about the hot tub’s cleanliness. Overall, cleanliness is generally good but with occasional lapses.
The property’s location on a main road offers convenient access to local attractions and beaches, which many guests appreciated. However, several reviews mention significant road noise and concerns about safety for children and dogs due to proximity to traffic. The rural setting is peaceful once inside, but the road is a notable factor.
Guests consistently praise the comfort of the beds, spacious layout, reclining sofas, and underfloor heating. The cottage is described as warm, cosy, and relaxing, with only a few guests mentioning issues with heating controls or noise affecting sleep.
Facilities such as the hot tub, wood burner, large TVs, and well-equipped kitchen are highly valued. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues (e.g., blinds, hot tub headrests, heating controls), but overall, the amenities are modern and well-maintained, contributing to a pleasant stay.
Many guests appreciated the welcome baskets with tea, coffee, Welsh cakes, and wine, as well as festive decorations at Christmas. While these thoughtful touches are frequently mentioned, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

What a great little find. It’s a bit far out if you want to be close to places like Tenby/Saundersfoot but it’s a straight run if you’re happy to be a bit further out! We had the dogs with us and it was perfect for them. Lovely garden area for them to wander around and tiled throughout so didn’t have to worry about them being wet or muddy. Utility room was fab, kept all the dogs stuff in there and was perfect to keep things separate. Kitchen was well equipped and we had a lovely welcome basket! Bed was comfortable, lovely solid furniture and reclining sofas which was great! Beautiful views! Really had a lovely week!

A relaxing holiday this is not!The location of the property is not where it says it is on the map. It showed the cottage as being set back from the A road...it is ON the A road! The noise was bad, and the highlights were shining through the blind. The outside also didn't feel safe for our child and dogs as it was just so close to the road. Poor sleep throughout the week meant we went home pretty tired! The cottage itself is fine, and it was relatively clean. We're not entirely convinced the hot tub had been changed before we arrived as the smell was quite bad after using it once, and the dishwasher didn't work great either (we found a couple of very dirty trays in the cupboard on our first night). It's just such a shame the map led us to believe it was far enough away from the road. My suggestion is...take some ear plugs and an eye mask for the night!

Had an amazing stay at this place. Property and hot hub excellent, spacious clean and warm. Garden big and secure enough for a 1 yr old Lab and 4 yr old cockapoo.. welcome basket very much appreciated. We had been worried before hand about safety and the traffic noise but can honestly say we could hear the traffic but it didn’t disturb us. We listened to music in the hot tub anyway. Slept really well and the accommodation is well situated in the middle of both coastlines. We really enjoyed beaches and cafes. Will be back. Excellent value for money given the luxurious interior.
