Guests say

Stambar is a beautifully appointed cottage offering a cosy yet modern stay with spacious rooms, underfloor heating, and a hot tub. Guests appreciate the secure garden for dogs, the welcome basket, and the property's cleanliness. While some find the proximity to the main road noisy, others value the easy access to local attractions.

The property generally receives high praise for cleanliness, with guests finding it tidy and well-maintained. However, a few guests noted minor issues such as a hazy hot tub and some wear, slightly lowering the score.

The location offers easy access to local attractions, which some guests found convenient. However, the proximity to a main road and the associated noise, along with concerns about dog safety and lack of nearby walks, has affected the score negatively.

Guests are very pleased with the comfort provided by the property, mentioning comfortable beds, recliner sofas, and a warm atmosphere enhanced by underfloor heating and a wood burner.

The facilities, including a hot tub and wood burner, are appreciated, but some guests noted issues with maintenance such as broken blinds, heating control problems, and the need for more outdoor seating. The hot tub maintenance and lack of provided logs for the burner have also been highlighted.

The welcome basket with treats is frequently mentioned and well-received by guests, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, this is reflected in the summary.

We had a Wonderful 5-night stay at Stambar. A beautifully appointed, warm and cosy barn yet spacious and modern accommodation. We were welcomed with a basket of goodies (tea, coffee, Welsh cakes and a lovely bottle of wine!) which was a wonderful touch. Communication about directions was spot on and given that it had snowed quite heavy the day before, the owners had cleared the drive and pathways into the property for us. The barn is located on a main road so access in and out of the property was easy for us. It is a fast road so caution is needed exiting the property. We found this a plus and loved how accessible we were to the places we wanted to visited. The barn was clean and tidy. Beautiful bedrooms; bedding and towels all laid out ready for us. The underfloor heating made the bedrooms and bathrooms feel wonderfully warm the whole time given that it was really cold outside. We loved the hot tub which was located just out to the front in a covered open building. Very clean and easy to use. And of course the log burner. So easy to use and really added to the cosy feel. After using the hot tub, we were able to relax on the super comfy, recliner sofas. Such a treat. We highly recommend staying at Stambar and will be returning again in the future.

I was honestly disappointed, I didn’t feel this was a 5 star. Property needs a little TLC, blind needed for back door, it’s overlooked. Several blinds broken, hot tub wasn’t private and the road noise day and night was awful, the location right next to the main road made us feel very uneasy with two dogs. I wouldn’t have booked if I had known this.

Beautiful place to stay unfortunately we didn't really get the weather and with x2 dogs it was difficult to get them out as no local walks nearby. The road was an issue for us and even though there is sufficient wiring along the fence it still made me uneasy with the dogs, a more private fence would probably help with this, block the road from view, and give more privacy all round . Need some blinds or curtains for back door as looks directly into cottage behind. Hand rail for front door and stone on top step loose. The heating did seem to do what it wanted even though I set all thermostats to 5 the heating in bedrooms still came on and I'd be awake by 4-5 , I had to open the windows which didn't help because of the noise. We still really enjoyed it here and with a few tweaks will be perfect.
