About this property

Aberaeron 4 miles, New Quay 7 miles, Aberystwyth 20 miles. Dragonfly Shepherd's Hut is a charming, one-bedroom holiday retreat resting on the outskirts of Oakford, near Aberaeron in Ceredigion. Perfectly placed in a fabulous rural location, enjoying peaceful views of the surrounding Welsh countryside, this delightful dwelling welcomes a couple looking to make memories with a romantic escape to Mid Wales and the heart of Cardigan Bay. Park up next to your new home-from-home, taking a moment to appreciate your beautiful new setting. Admire the glistening waters of the pond before you head up the three steps into Dragonfly Shepherd's Hut. Once inside, be greeted by a vibrant, tastefully-presented living space, comprising a kitchenette with two-ring induction hob and a fridge, a dining space with seating for two, and plush double bed where you and your partner can catch your precious rest once the sun has set. A shower room invites you to indulge with a revitalising cleanse, whilst outdoors, you can find an outdoor bath, perfect for soaking in whilst you gaze up at the starry night vistas. For an alfresco experience, make use of the outdoor kitchen, which houses a barbecue and outdoor seating, serving as a superb spot wherein to wine and dine as you plan the rest of your itinerary. If you can tear yourself from your tranquil new base, lace up your shoes and jump in the car to explore your local region. Make a beeline for nearby Aberaeron, a gorgeous 19th century harbourside town with its famous multi-coloured Georgian houses all lining along the seafront. Continue along the coast, starting with an excursion to bustling New Quay, where you can tuck into local cuisine at a range of independent cafes and eateries and hop on board a boat trip out to see the resident bottle nosed dolphins in the Bay, before enjoying a calming amble along New Quay Harbour. A drive further north will take you to Aberystwyth, with its picture perfect Victorian promenade and magical views of Cardigan Bay from atop Constitution Hill. On your way back to base, call in nearby at the pristine National Trust site of Llanerchaeron - an 18th century estate with an ornamental lake and serene walled garden. Make memories to last a lifetime in Mid Wales when you book Dragonfly Shepherd's Hut.

Nestled between the coastal settings of Aberaeron and New Quay, just a short drive from the shimmering waters of Bae Ceredigion lies the village of Llwyncelyn. Best known for being the home of the Grade II listed LLwyncelyn Chapel Hall, which dates to 1855, Llwyncelyn houses a Post Office, a petrol station with convenience store, along with the brilliant Moody Cow Farm Shop & Welsh Bistro, a popular culinary and shopping destination for hungry tourists and locals alike. A brief drive from the village will take you to the pubs of The Red Lion in Ffos-y-ffin, and the Llanina Arms Hotel in Llanarth, whilst visitors can also discover the nearby National Trust landmark of Llanerchaeron, and the calming stretch of Cei Bach Beach. For a full day out, an abundance of beaches can be found dotted along the coast, as are the must-see locales of Tresaith, Aberporth, Llangrannong, and Llanrhystud.
