Guests say

The Cow Shed is a charming, peaceful cottage set in beautiful countryside, ideal for couples and dog owners seeking a relaxing break. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, comfort, and the warm welcome from the hosts. The property is well-equipped, with thoughtful touches such as welcome packs and dog-friendly amenities, and serves as a great base for exploring local beaches and towns. While a car is necessary for amenities and some minor kitchen items could be improved, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return and recommend to others.

Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with guests describing the cottage as spotless, impeccably clean, and well-maintained. Only one review mentioned concerns about potential impacts from multiple dogs, but this was not a common theme.

The rural, tranquil setting is widely appreciated, offering peace and privacy. The need to drive for shops and dining is noted, but guests generally found the location excellent for exploring the coast and nearby towns.

Guests found the cottage cosy, comfortable, and well-suited for both people and dogs. The beds and living spaces are praised, with only minor comments about garden size for larger dogs.

Facilities are generally excellent, with well-equipped kitchens, enclosed gardens, and extras like books and jigsaws. Some minor suggestions for improvement include more kitchen utensils and a smart TV. One review mentioned a temporary water issue, but this was not typical.

Guests repeatedly mention the generous welcome packs and dog-friendly touches, such as treats and towels. While these gifts are frequently provided, it should be noted that they are not guaranteed.

The Cow Shed was impeccably clean, has everything you need and a lovely welcome pack with milk and welshcakes so you can have a cup of tea unpacking, very thoughtful :). We had two dogs so the enclosed garden was superb and lovely field to walk them in the morning a short distance from the cottage was great. We will definitely be booking again. It's a great location for driving out to the lovely beaches and towns dotted down the coastline. Lovely cosy bed, great sized bathroom, just perfect, thanks for having us.

The cottage is in bad need of a lick of paint and some updating. The farmyard is quite neglected and the property is not within walkable distance to anywhere for food or drink. It is very close to New Quay and Abaraeron and so driveable. The owners seemed very nice and provided a lovely welcome pack, one of the best we have ever had. Books and jigsaws were provided in case of rainy days etc, even a notebook and pens for people to use, they even provided treats for the dog, with a towel and bowl. We love dogs and have one ourselves, but allowing lots of dogs to be in a very compact space is bound to impact on the cleanliness of the place and the damage they may cause. When we arrived on the Friday, we were told they had had no water the previous day. The water was on when we arrived but went off early on the Saturday and didn’t come back on again until just before bedtime. We got up on Sunday to no water at all, so we were unable to flush the toilet, have showers etc, it was on a trickle when we got back late afternoon until around 8pm and then it all went off again. The owners did provide us with bottled water, but this is not what you want while on holiday. It was not the owners fault but them having had issues before we arrived, we would have liked the option to cancel. Thankfully the water had been restored by Monday morning, without any further issues.
