Woodland grounds (shared with property UK41513). 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead in the grounds at all times (livestock). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is a large wildlife pond in the grounds.. Ty Gwair (which means haybarn in Welsh) has been renovated to a high standard in 2022 and is perfect for a break away, or for those wanting to explore the beautiful surrounding areas that this property has to offer straight from the front door. Ty Gwair consists of an open plan living space and offers a wood burner, a Smart TV and Wi-Fi. There are two bedrooms (the double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom) and a further family shower room. Outside is an enclosed lawned garden. This detached barn conversion lies on the owners’ small holding and there is plenty to discover in terms of walks and wildlife here.
Access to the fields can be gained with permission, depending on the whereabouts of livestock. Additionally, via a bridleway and footpath straight from the yard is access to Longwood Community Woodland, a 300 acre woodland with footpaths and bridalways as well as a visitor centre.
The property is about 3 miles from the town of Lampeter, which has an array of shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs to choose from. additionally, there are over 60 miles of glorious coastline in Cardigan Bay, and lots of beaches and coves in the pretty, coastal resort of New Quay The colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron can be easily reached about 10 miles away. You’re very likely to see dolphins in the bay and there are boat trips available to watch them and the other wildlife.
The Victorian seaside and university town of Aberystwyth is also within easy reach, where you’ll find a traditional pier, promenade, and the old electric cliff railway to the summit of Constitution Hill, from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the bay.
Enjoy a day out at the National Trust Dolaucothi Gold Mines at Pumpsaint, the Silver Mountain Experience (silver-lead mines) at Ponterwyd or the red kite feeding centre at Bwlch Nant Yr Arian, or why not take a trip on a traditional steam train from Aberystwyth to the falls at Devil’s Bridge?

We stayed for christmas 2025 , our first christmas away and what a fantastic time we had. The cottage is beautiful, spotlessly clean, cosy and spacious! There is everything you need! The bathrooms are beautiful, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. The hosts live next door (not attached) and they are the kindest family you will meet, From the moment we arrived we was welcomed with open arms and smiley faces. Nothing was too much bother , Ffion is so kind and graceful and the children are so polite and helpful, it was honestly a pleasure to speak to them all! We had firewood delivered by the family and it was no bother to them, it was lovely to see the children helping their dad on the farm as well!The garden is secure and the stars at night are beautiful, such a peaceful tranquil place!We went for a walk into the local woodland and the views are stunning We also went into Lampeter and the marshlands near by, lovely areas so explore and lots of cosy local pubs!Honestly can't think of a bad thing about this place or the hosts! We will 100% recommend it to anyone and will hopefully be back in the future to remember our first christmas away ! Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Had a lovely short break at Tŷ Gwair, property is very will equipped, clean and exactly as described.Ffion and family were delightful and really invested in making sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our stay.If you're looking for nightlife and constant entertainment it's not the place for you, but if you want peace and quiet and a relaxed holiday in comfortable well-appointed accommodation, from you which you can discover a beautiful part of Wales, Tŷ Gwair is perfect!
