This beautiful single-storey barn conversion is set in a tranquil rural location and makes an ideal holiday base from which to discover this scenic part of Wales. The property has an attractive walled garden as well as a fenced paddock with picnic bench, where guests can exercise their dogs. From Yr Hen Stabl, you can directly access a footpath circumnavigating Cors Caron Nature Reserve, whilst bridleways, the Ystwyth Trail and other Sustrans routes are in the immediate vicinity. Nearby are the wonderful Cambrian Mountains, Strata Florida, Devil’s Bridge, Cwm Rheidol and the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway. The National Trust properties Llanerchaeron, Dinefawr Park and the Dolaucothi Gold Mines are a short drive away. Wonderful scenic walks can be undertaken at the Elan Valley, Llyn Brianne and Bwlch yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre - which also features several mountain bike trails. Bird watchers can easily visit local rspb reserves at Ynys Hir and Dinas. The stunning Ceredigion Heritage Coast, with beautiful beaches and coastal footpath can be reached in 30 minutes. A similar distance away is the resort and university town of Aberystwyth, home to the National Library of Wales, the University Arts Centre, cinemas, museums, the cliff railway, promenade and pier. Yr Hen Stabl is situated on Fullbrook, a working sheep farm overlooking Cors Caron. Most amenities, including banks, groceries, chemists, newsagents, pubs, takeaways and restaurants can be found in Tregaron which is just 2 miles away and also home to the Red Kite Centre. What a joy to discover Yr Hen Stabl! It's a wonderful, well maintained barn conversion in a very rural, blissfully quiet location with lovely conscientious owners close by. The big garden is fully enclosed with a sunny terrace for sundowner time and ball throwing for the dogs. There is also a brilliant, enclosed meadow with a picnic table to sit at and admire the view whilst the dogs are running about. My two jack russels loved it all and I was happy that they wouldn't escape. In such a perfect place, it didnt even cross their minds to wander off!I have stayed at some awful, neglected holiday properties (booked through online agents with totally misleading write-ups and photos!!) but Yr Hen Stabl has restored my faith that there are still very good holiday properties out there. My batteries were fully re-charged and I will certainly return. Thank you so very much for having us!!

We had a lovely relaxing time during our stay. We have 2 dogs so the enclosed garden and dog field made it more relaxing if we didn't want to drive out anywhere. Bethan was very friendly and helpful with information about the area. The accomodation had everything we needed for our stay. The beds were very comfortable and the area was very peaceful. We hope to return soon.
