The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed for a short break. The barn is situated in beautiful countryside with great views - very relaxing to look at the view while in the hot tub with red kites flying overhead. The owners went out of their way to help us.

Absolutely fantastic time and a lovely host. We will be coming back for sure. Just a perfect wee weekend away at a spotlessly clean cottage couldn’t have asked for any better loved it 🥰

We had a relaxing week exploring the local area. The cottage was an excellent base for this. Our trips included Aberystwyth, for shopping, seeing the sea (and in summer would be swimming in the sea), and for the view from the cafe at the top of the funicular railway (excellent). We also drove the Elan Valley roads, for spectacular views, and found an artisan pottery, run by Duncan and Karen Browning at Cwmystwyth (part way along the valley on the road from Pontyrhydfendigaid - which is near the cottage - to Rhyader). We also went to Builth Wells, and (ONLY if you are a very confident driver) you could try the road from there, via Beulah, and Abergwesyn to Tregaron, which is VERY spectacular and challenging, the road being barely wider than the car, with few verges, steeps drops to one (usually the passenger's) side, many blind summits, and a few steep hairpin bends - the road clings to the mountain side - did I say it was bendy ? The local roads, including most of the mountain ones, were very well surfaced. A welcome soak in the cottage's (private) hot tub rounded off most days excellently. The hosts, Iona and Iffan were very welcoming and helpful.
