Guests say

Bryn Derw Holiday Cottage is highly praised for its stunning views, immaculate condition, and attentive hosts. Guests enjoy the comfortable furnishings, spaciousness, and the added luxury of a hot tub. The presence of alpacas adds a unique charm. While most experiences are positive, some guests suggest improvements for dog-friendliness and secure fencing.

The property is consistently described as spotless and well-maintained, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that guests appreciate.

The location is celebrated for its outstanding views and proximity to attractions. However, the steep access road is noted, which may be challenging for some vehicles.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with easy-to-clean floors, a child gate for dining areas, and quality bedding. The spaciousness and suitability for all ages contribute to the comfort level.

Facilities are generally top-class, including a hot tub and games room. However, some guests mention the need for dog-proofing and secure fencing, which affects the score.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through welcome baskets and attentive service. While gifts are mentioned and appreciated, it is politely noted that such gestures are at the hosts' discretion and not guaranteed.

Along the hall, as well as two ground floor bedrooms, you will find a study area, ideal for children to use as a games or activity room or for budding young artists to draw and colour in. Further along is a media room with games consoles and large flat screen TV for movie buffs. Upstairs are two further bedrooms, both benefiting from en-suite shower rooms and the rear bedroom soaking up undisturbed views. The gardens are well kept, with a patio and elevated decking area to maximise the views, whilst the hot tub will ensure a relaxing time for all, and is certain to be a hit for the kids. Close by you will find the wonderful Bodnant Gardens, ideal for a day exploring the beauty of the Conwy Valley, the adrenalin of Surf Snowdonia water park, the High Ropes adventure course, and of course all the delights of Snowdonia and the North Wales coastline and surrounding footpaths. The village of Eglwysbach is in the wonderful Conwy Valley, which is renowned for its beautiful countryside, scenic walks and the world famous Bodnant Gardens. Nearby Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is one of Britain's most unspoiled historic towns. A true medieval gem, the town is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls - fortified with 21 towers and three gateways, the walls form an almost unbroken shield around the old town.

We visited with our friends so there were 4 adults, 1 teen and 2 small children). We were celebrating a couple of birthdays, including a 40th, and walked into a giant 40th balloon and a welcome hamper on the dining table, as well as a ballon banner that spelled out 'Happy Birthday' across the conservatory. The consideration and thoughtfulness of Delyth and David were second to none. The grounds and view are just breath-taking and the house was spotless and stocked with every possible item that could be needed. We had so much to entertain us during the evenings thanks to all of the games that were provided in the games room. The view from the hot-tub was just incredible and we often got in before dawn so we could enjoy the beauty of the valley unfolding. We were delighted to see the alpaca that lived in the field near the house; it was really magical. David popped up towards the end of the week, as we had been looking for a hoover and he had mistakenly locked it in the garage; whilst at the cottage, he invited us and the children to visit the barn at their farm to feed the alpaca, which was really lovely. The kids got to properly meet and feed the alpaca and also met Ella and Shaun, the ponies. David was really patient and kind to the children, letting them have a look at, and sit on some of the farm vehicles in the barn. There are some lovely places to visit nearby, including Conwy Castle, which is stunning. We would definitely recommend staying at Bryn Derw; Delyth and David are wonderful hosts and their visitor book is packed with messages of warm and sincere thanks for the wonderful stays had by previous guests (many who have returned again and again). We will definitely be returning; Bryn Derw is my new favourite place!
