Blissful Retreat, Sleeping 6

About this property

Blissful Retreat, Sleeping 6 is a pleasant three-bedroom house in Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan, with an enclosed garden, two bathrooms, and the beach within easy reach. Suited to families or groups of friends, it provides a practical base beside Frenhines Forest, with plenty of space for days spent together and local landmarks waiting to be discovered.

Step into the sitting room after a day outdoors and gather around the television while the electric fire adds a warm glow. Sunlight filters through the windows overlooking the garden, creating an appealing setting for planning the following day’s adventures. In the kitchen/diner, prepare breakfast before a forest walk or bring everyone together over a home-cooked evening meal, with an oven, gas hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer available.

When the day draws to a close, choose from two king-size bedrooms, one of which has its own television and garden views, or the double bedroom. Two bathrooms make busy mornings easier, offering a walk-in shower, two baths, and a shower over one bath. Outside, the enclosed garden combines a patio, terrace, and gravelled area, with furniture for drinks in the open air while children and a pet explore.

Begin locally in Bridgend, where Newcastle Castle and the former Island Farm prisoner-of-war camp reveal different chapters of the area’s history. Continue to Coity to see Castell Coety, whose surviving stonework offers another glimpse into the region’s past.

Around Ewenny, visit Ewenny Priory before travelling towards Ogmore Castle for a family day shaped by heritage and the surrounding landscape. Nature seekers can make for Merthyr Mawr Nature Reserve or spend time among the trees at Brynna Woods. With the coast, forest, castles, and nature reserves all offering varied days out, Blissful Retreat, Sleeping 6 makes a well-placed base for discovering this part of Mid Glamorgan.
