A lovely, secluded, peaceful setting. Let down by its cleanliness and lack of upkeep. On arrival we were greeted by swarms of flies around the bins one of which had not been emptied and smelt awful. We were then confronted with a hornets nest above the entrance to the house and over the 2 days we were there 2 of our party were stung. Luckily no-one had a bad reaction. We understand that in old cottages in these type of locations you get cobwebs appearing over night but it was full of cobwebs that had clearly been there a while. Leaves and debri from trees had been brushed into corners and left. In the kitchen almost everything you needed was there although we did need to purchase a frying pan as the one provided was so worn the Teflon was pealing off. Outside the ceiling of the porch was rotted with a large damp patch and when walking across the garden there was dog muck dried and left by previous guests. On a positive note the open log burning stoves were cozy, the beds were comfortable and there was free WiFi. It's a real shame because with a little bit of TLC this place could be perfect but it looked and felt a bit tired hence the 3 stars and not 2. Come on owners. Put a bit of effort in and this place could be great.

A lovely secluded cottage in a beautiful part of the world!Just returned from four nights at Tyn Y Coed feeling refreshed and rested. From the moment we arrived, we really liked it. The house is very peaceful, and as we have a very reactive dog, it was perfect - an opportunity to let her relax in a large garden, and go for walks through the woods beside the house. The house itself was really comfortable, beds were just right, leading to good nights' sleep, and well-equipped.Will definitely be returning!P.S. The few slight queries we had were responded to very promptly by the owners - first class!

Fantastic rural location, very quiet and relaxing, would recommend. The woods were beautiful with blue bells and wild garlic in bloom. Great base , lots to visit nearby.
