Trefor 3.9 miles. Surrounded by mature gardens, woodlands and lakes, Garden Cottage really lives up to its name, offering a tranquil base for a holiday on the Llyn Peninsula. This charming, ‘Hansel & Gretel’ style property boasts plenty of character while sleeping up to six guests, just five miles from the bustling market town of Pwllheli. Discover the spacious sitting room, finished with its original terracotta tiled floor, leather seating and a cosy woodburning stove for those chilly nights. Allow the chef of the group to get acquainted in the kitchen, appointed with all the mod cons required to whip up a tasty feast. Gather round the dining table for a family meal to enjoy the fruits of your labour, toasting to a long-awaited break to North Wales. Upstairs, the double bedroom features a pretty, upholstered bed and looks out over the large herbaceous flowerbed, while there is also a charming twin. Downstairs features a king-size bedroom with zip/link beds, which can be arranged as a twin on request. Choose from a deep soak in the cast iron bath or wash away the day in the walk-in shower. Owing to its location on the slopes of the Yr Eifl mountain range, the small community of Llithfaen is one of the highest villages on the Llyn Peninsula, with some of the best views in the area. The village has its own community-run village shop and local bar, which has been welcoming visitors since 1988. The Welsh Language and Background Centre and restaurant are located close up the road at Nant Gwrtheyrn, which also has a pebble beach, and Llithfaen is particularly proud of its Welsh heritage. Nefyn, a charming seaside town perched on sweeping cliffs, is 4 miles away and has a lovely two-mile stretch of sandy beach popular with kids, as well as a decent selection of shops, pubs, and restaurants. The amenities of the tourist towns of Pwllheli, Abersoch, and Caernarfon are also within easy distance of the community. The Ty Coch pub in adjacent Porth Dinllaen was rated the third finest 'beach bar' in the world in an internet feature in June 2013. The region's coastline is lined with castles and coves, and fishing, sailing, and other water sports are accessible. The Snowdonia National Park, with its spectacular landscape and numerous excellent treks, is only 25 miles distant. This location is an excellent base for a trip to North Wales because of its accessibility to so many attractions.
