Being in a Bortle 2 area (the second darkest call of night skies that can be found on Earth), this property is a stargazing haven; sit outside and admire the beauty of the night sky right above you.
Beautiful Aberdaron Bay is just 1½ miles from the cottage, and in this pretty village you can find a mile long sandy beach, two pubs, a tea room and boat trips in the summer to Bardsey Island. Children will love exploring the sea caves and rock pools, or for the more adventurous, windsurfing and kayaking can also be found in the area.
For history buffs, Caernarfon Castle is worth a visit and is set on the banks of the River Seiont, whilst Harlech Castle is situated on a rocky crag overlooking sand dunes far below. The highest peak in Wales, Mount Snowdon, is a must for outdoor enthusiasts, and there is also the Snowdon Mountain Railway which will take you to the top. For seaside fun, visit the bustling market town of Pwllheli, with its beach, art galleries, sailing and watersports centre, and coastal cruises out to see wildlife such as seals, sea birds and dolphins. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

An absolutely lovely farm cottage, lots of space, very well appointed and decorated. We had a great time, the grandchildren loved the play room and outside toy chest, secure garden and former farmyard. Ruth was a super host, very helpful and introduced the children to Meg the pig, Ant and Dec the rams and Luna the sheep. Excellent location for the beaches, shops and pub / cafes. Definitely recommend.

The cottage is in a quiet location, conveniently located near to Aberdaron, but also within driving distance of Pwllheli, Criccieth, Harlech and Caernarfon which we all visited within the week for beaches and castles. The cottage was clean, quiet and comfortable, well above expectations and nice to return to after a day out.Our host, Ruth, was a lovely person. She let the eight-year old in our party feed her farm pets. He also enjoyed the space for his own outdoor activities. If we had had bad weather, he probably would have made more use of the ample toys and games in the second sitting room, which also served as a quiet reading room.
