Wernddu Fechan House is a spacious and well-equipped holiday home, ideal for large family gatherings and groups. Wernddu Fechan House is just a fabulous, perfect space for friends and families to get together in this spacious, luxurious property, with a sizeable living room with a large TV, perfect for those movie nights in! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need including a Ninja blender, smoothie maker, and a Tassimo coffee machine. There is a separate dining room, with a table that can accommodate up to 14 guests. There’s also a huge games room with a ¾ size snooker/pool table fitted with professional match cloth, an exercise bike, dining table for six people and a 65" Smart TV, Sky TV, perfect for the kids whilst the adults are entertaining themselves.
All upstairs bedrooms have TVs and en-suites – who will choose the master bedroom with its super kingsize bed and huge en-suite with walk-in shower and spa bath? For your comfort there are digital thermostats in each room downstairs apart from the kitchen, upstairs has individual thermostatic radiator valves. There is a large patio area outside to the front of the property and to the rear is a private hot tub, patio area and grassed garden. The property sits within 10 acres of land. It would make a perfect venue for a unique, exclusive wedding celebration or a corporate retreat.
Both Neath town centre and Swansea are easily accessible, being approximately 4-5 miles from the property.
The Neath Valley in South Wales is an increasingly popular area for UK holidays. The location lends itself well to those looking to explore the diverse countryside of the area. With cycle paths and walking trails on your doorstep, there is plenty to explore.
The valley is home to some of Wales’s most impressive waterfalls, including Aberdulais, Melincourt at Resolven, Pontneddfechan and Sgwd yr Eira. Impressive hills will keep you busy, head to Afan Forest Park, 20 minutes away, for hilly bike trails or Penyfan in the Brecon Beacons, which is the tallest peak in South Wales.
For family fun days out, the National Showcaves Centre for Wales at Dan yr Ogof, The National Botanic Gardens, Folly Farm, quad biking, and Zip World are firm favourites in the area. Aberavon beach is 8½ miles away, or visit the famous beaches of the Gower Peninsula, The Mumbles and Swansea Bay are all within 40 minutes or less. Pendine Sands, Tenby, Carmarthen, Bridgend (McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Village), Cardiff, Newport and Prince of Wales Stadium are all within an hour’s drive. The Penderyn Whisky distillery is under 30 minutes away where tours are available. Multiple local golf courses are available as is some of the best salmon and sewin (seatrout) fishing in the UK on the rivers Towy, Teifi, Gwilli and Cothi, a personal ghillie can even be arranged for you. It is a perfect base for anyone wishing to fish the Golden Grove or Abercothi Estates waters. Other coarse and flyfishing lakes and reservoirs are also available. Horse riding with a local equestrian centre is also available.
All in all, you could not find a more centrally located place for a holiday in South Wales.

From the arrival time we had trouble. I was told the last four digits of my phone number was the key code- not the case. Luckily somebody had left the rear patio door open. There were 2 old cars parked by the garage on our arrival, one belonged to the hot tub man , the other was there all weekend.I had to phone the owner to get the key code it’s now 6 digits not 4.Went to give our 2 year old grand daughter a Bath - no hot from the hot tap, only Bath in the house, filled it with plastic bowls from Kitchen- not ideal.Hot water was very temperamental , sometimes it was ok other times it was cold. No hot water if you showered before about 8am.Dishwasher washing but cold & wet. On Saturday evening it started to trip the power several times before we realised it was probably the dishwasher causing this problems. So no dishwasher which meant a lot of washing up, especially with just 2 tea towels.Handyman came in Sunday but didn’t improve anything unfortunately.New fridge/freezer in the kitchen but nobody had thought of removing the transit tape. For some reason there is a old chest freezer in the entrance hall somewhat spoiling the decoration- I’m sure it would fit somewhere less obtrusive.We were told by *removed by Feefo* that there were towels for the hot tub which wasn’t the case. The bungalow next door overlooks the rear patio & the children who were staying( in the bungalow) were calling out to anyone in our hot tub- not ideal.Someone needs to go round the house & check on the light bulbs.Also Shower knob in green bathroom came off & could’ve either hurt someone or smashed the tiles. The bed in the green room is very uncomfortable.The master en suite needs some mould & mildew killer on the grouting in the shower.The house was very clean & the wifi & entertainment facilities were good although the lounge tv has areas of the screen which are dark so I imagine the pixals are gone.There were no paper written instructions in the house so we didn’t have a clue about what went where in the kitchen bins or where the rubbish went when you needed to empty the kitchen bins. When we did find out the bins are at the other entrance from the house and the green rubbish bins were more or less full already we were given the code for the locked big bin so we could put rubbish in there.The patio area at the front of the house could do with repointing and the treehouse is kaput so not a facility for the kids anymore.I was in touch with the owners over the weekend & they did try to help but were abroad 7 hours ahead. The offered us an extra night free but obviously the majority needed to be back at work/school. They also offered late check out which we did take up & left at 12 noon instead of 10.I found the whole weekend stressful and as it was my big birthday weekend it did spoil it somewhat. Shame as it wasn’t cheap.

Excellent Holiday home. Very spacious and comfortable. Minor issue on arrival and was resolved within an hour by the host without any fuss or disruption to us. Hot Tub, Snooker Table and Sky TV was added bonus - all well utilised when the weather wasn't too kind to us. Great base giving us access to Neath, Swansea, Bridgend and even Tenby. Lots of golf in the area and fishing.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house, there were 14 of us who stayed including 3 children for a family Christmas get together. There was plenty of room for us all, the beds were very comfortable and it was clean. There was plenty of room for parking and the open plan living area and kitchen was perfect for spending quality family time together. We also made the most of using the hot tub and playing in the games room. We will be looking to book again for next year! Thank you!
