Set in a picturesque spot along the secluded St David’s Peninsula, this traditional stone cottage makes a fantastic holiday retreat for families and friends discovering an idyllic corner of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Offering cosy accommodation for up to six guests, the bright and cheerful property has been thoughtfully updated and has plenty of original features including timber beams, flagstone floors, and a wood burner set in an inglenook fireplace. Ideally situated close to a charming harbour, this characterful retreat has been tastefully decorated and beautifully furnished to provide a perfect base for walkers, cyclists, and nature spotters eager to explore a stunning part of West Wales.
Entering this cheerful cottage – thought to originally have been the servants’ quarters for the harbourmaster – the hallway leads through into an airy lounge/diner. The lounge features ample seating around the wood burner, which is set in a traditional fireplace, while the dining area to the rear is perfect for relaxing family mealtimes. The ground floor also has a fully equipped, galley-style kitchen. A rope banister leads you upstairs to the first floor where you will find a charming bathroom and three cheery king-size bedrooms. Each bedroom has a TV, two also offer rural views, while the third is accessed from one side via a box step. Outside, the enclosed garden has a BBQ and outdoor furniture, providing a relaxing spot for dining in the sun and taking in views towards the harbour.
Porthclais is a small harbour perfect for launching kayaks and smaller boats out into St Bride’s Bay. The historic cathedral city of St Davids is a mile away, or you can head along the coast to the beautiful Whitesands Bay (3 miles). A stroll along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path will take you to the beautiful secluded Porthlysgi Bay (1.5 miles).
