Guests say

Dilys Cottage offers a cosy, well-equipped base in a peaceful rural setting, ideal for exploring Tenby and the Pembrokeshire coast. Guests praise its excellent location, comfortable beds, and welcoming owner. While many appreciate the value for money and countryside charm, several reviews note that the property would benefit from a deep clean and some modernisation. Some maintenance issues and occasional cleanliness concerns are mentioned, but the cottage remains popular for its tranquil atmosphere and proximity to local attractions.

Cleanliness is mixed, with some guests finding the cottage clean and tidy, while others report issues such as dust, cobwebs, stained rugs, and a need for a deep clean. Several reviews mention specific areas needing more attention, including the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms.

The location is highly praised, with guests loving the peaceful rural setting and easy access to Tenby, Pembroke, beaches, and local attractions. The cottage is described as ideally placed for exploring the best of Pembrokeshire.

Comfort receives mixed feedback. Many guests find the beds very comfortable and enjoy the cosy atmosphere, but others mention uncomfortable sofas, draughty doors, and occasional damp smells. Overall, the cottage is considered comfortable for the price.

Facilities are generally adequate, with a well-equipped kitchen and good shower noted. However, some guests report maintenance issues such as dated décor, fly infestations, limited Wi-Fi, and minor appliance problems. The property would benefit from updates and repairs.

Some guests mention thoughtful touches such as a bottle of wine and chocolate on arrival, but these are not guaranteed. The owner is frequently described as friendly and welcoming, though information packs and instructions could be improved.

Absolutely lovely cottage in lovely countryside setting. Quite close to Tenby, Saundersfoot and other lovely beaches. Could do with a deep clean and sofas were uncomfortable, so we didn’t use them. Kitchen well equipped. Beds very comfortable and bed linen and towels were clean. Was hoping for milk with tea and coffee as a welcome pack. A bottle of wine and a bar of chocolate was appreciated though. No village shops. Just a pub, chippy and sandwich bar. Pembroke dock quite near in the car with all supermarkets, home bargains, Argos and more. I would most likely return again when there is availability. Seems to be booked up until Christmas 2027?

We stayed at Dilys Farm in June 2026. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the condition of the cottage. From the outside, the cottage looks charming and cosy, and the kitchen was reasonably clean and well equipped. However, we felt that much of the interior would benefit from updating and more thorough maintenance. The kitchen cupboards, while functional, did not feel particularly clean. The sofas in the living room were uncomfortable, with springs noticeable through the cushions, and they appeared quite worn. As a result, the seating areas were not especially relaxing.Upstairs, we found a number of cobwebs, spiders and dead insects, which gave the impression that the property had not been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. The double bed also had a foam topper beneath the mattress that appeared dusty, and the bed itself could have benefited from a deeper clean. We found the bed uncomfortable and struggled to sleep well during our stay.I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, and I appreciate that some guests may find the property's more rustic character appealing. However, if you are looking for accommodation that feels fresh, modern and particularly well maintained, this may not be the right choice for you.
