This superb property, set in the middle of the popular town of Betws-y-Coed is spread over three floors and has a good sized garden with views across the river. With the many mountain walks and cycle tracks in the area, there is plenty to do. Along with the many shops and restaurants there are also golf courses and riding schools locally as well as kayaking and climbing. With many places of interest close by, you can visit the National Trust properties at Bodnant Gardens or the Castle of Conwy as well as Victorian Llandudno. Snowdon itself is close by where you can choose to walk up or get the train to the top from Llanberis. Shop 200 yards, pub 100 yards and restaurant 120 yards.

We stayed at this cottage as a family of 6 which included 2 children. The situation is ideal as it is in the village itself and close to amenities.First of all I will list the good side of this property.Very cleanClose to shops, a pub which serves good food across the road.Beds very comfortable.There is a toilet on all 3 floors which is very convenient when there are young children involved.There is plenty of crockery and utensils in the kitchen plus 2 fridges and 2 freezers.The living room furniture is a bit dated but comfortable enough.Parking is good, plenty of room for 2 cars.Now the downsides (not too many)In the living room is a rug which smells of wet dogs and on the patio is some old garden furniture which is very uncomfortable to sit on.We enjoyed our holiday here and apart from the items listed the cottage is perfect.

We loved Trem Yr Ynys; it’s spacious, has everything you need and although it is on the main road, the fact that it’s set back by the river mutes the traffic noise. We were there during the extreme heat and the shade from the trees and the proximity to the river made an appreciable difference. We felt it as soon as we walked down the little dip to the parking area. Falling asleep to the sound of the river was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable, too. The village is, of course, busy (It’s a victim of its own picturesqueness) and more so during the hot weather when a lot of people seemed to have decided just to bunk off work/college/uni and go somewhere cooler, lol) but the house is a wonderful and quiet haven.(If you can’t get all you need in the local Spa or Londis, Tesco deliver)
