Penrhyddion Ucha is a well-loved cottage praised for its peaceful rural setting, stunning views, and homely atmosphere. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful owner, comfortable beds, and the well-equipped kitchen. The property's location is ideal for exploring North Wales, with easy access to local walks and attractions. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with only a few mentioning issues such as cobwebs and a musky smell upon arrival. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than a common trend.
The location is consistently praised for its tranquility, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions and amenities. It is described as an ideal base for exploring North Wales and enjoying the natural surroundings.
Guests report that the beds are comfortable and the living spaces are cosy, contributing to a relaxing stay. However, there are a few remarks about uncomfortable single beds in the twin room, slightly lowering the score.
The property is generally well-equipped, with a kitchen, washing machine, and dryer. However, some guests encountered issues with broken games in the games room, a failed window unit obstructing views, and temporary problems with hot water, indicating room for improvement in maintenance.
Many guests mention thoughtful touches like a cake, milk, and scones on arrival, as well as the owner's friendly and approachable nature. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed.

Betws-Y-Coed was founded around a monastery late in the 6th Century. It grew very slowly with the development of the local lead-mining industry and today has earned the nickname of ‘the Gateway to Snowdonia' and is one of North Wales' most popular holiday destinations. As part of the Snowdonia National Park it is surrounded by miles of unspoilt countryside and ancient mountains and is home to an abundance of wildlife and some rare species of plants. This is a Mecca for walkers, horse-riders and climbers looking to pit themselves against the trials offered by Mount Snowdon. There are a variety of attractions in and around Betwsy-Y-Coed, such as Fairy Glen, a secluded gorge and beauty spot on the River Conwy. The Swallow Falls are also extremely popular and offer a dramatic highlight to any visit. There is a good selection of pubs in the village, with a number of restaurants and shops.

Nothing was too much trouble, she was on hand if needed but not obtrusive. Beautiful fresh flowers, and home made Bara Brith on arrival. Thank you Menna. Accommodation was clean, homely, and has everything you could possible need for a self catering holiday. We would certainly return again,

Arrived quite late but the cottage was well lit. Road up was fun. What absolutely stunning surround views. The cottage is very homely. Well maintained and clean. We had everything we possible needed.
