Located in the quiet coastal village of Fairbourne, this holiday property has a large lawned garden with great views of the mountains, yet is only a couple of minutes walk from the lovely, quiet, two-mile long sandy beach, accessed over steep stones. Many of the area’s beaches are dog-friendly and Fairlawns can accommodate up to 2 dogs.
The property makes a great base for exploring the area. Take a trip on the little Fairbourne Railway out to the headland and cross the Mawddach Estuary by ferry, and visit Barmouth where you can try crabbing in the harbour, or stroll across the famous Barmouth Bridge.
Imagine climbing Cader Idris, exploring the ruins of Castell-y-Bere, or riding behind a steam engine on the friendly Talyllyn Railway and hopping off the train to explore the waterfalls at Dolgoch or Nant Gwernol. Visit the pretty market town of Dolgellau, go walking or mountain biking at Coed-Y-Brenin Forest Park, and then relax in the garden, watching the sunset.

Great location. Central for everything.Beds very comfortable.Comfortable lounge.Great shower.Great off-road parking.Everything said, we loved the bungalow, but it needs more love and attention. Great garden, but sadly the gate was tide with string/rope. Dog or child could get out. In addition the fencing had sizeable gaps and a child or dog could get into the brook,The garden furniture wasn’t covered and had lots of bird mess on it.The grass was rather long, but was cut on the day after arrival. Weeding wasn’t done. The splash back behind the hob was badly marked and not cleaned properly.There was a very strong smell of damp in the hall way, we investigated and found a mop and bucket in the airing cupboard which was obviously stored damp. An awful smell.The blue mugs in the kitchen were stained badly, and needed to be bleached clean or replaced.There was mould in two lower corners of the master bedroom.There was mould in two upper corners of the bathroom, and grouting stained in the shower area over the bath.Lots of the paintwork needs doing and marks touched up on walls.There were three window pains that needed to be replaced.There was mould on the curtain linings in the master bedroom they were badly stained, and had paint on. There was mould linings of the lounge linings had rips.We were quite shocked that there wasn’t a tea towel. Then we found a cleaning kit!!!! One cleaning cloth. A tiny scrub sponge. A bin bag. A dish washer tab. And the tiniest little bottle of washing up liquid in a gift box. All other properties we have rented always have basic cleaning bits. And a salt and pepper pot. Absolutely not a homely welcome. There was some cookies, uht milk sachets, tea leaf sachets, sugar sachets and coffee sachets in another box. Nothing personal or welcoming.This bungalow is supposed to home six. It could be so much more homely and welcoming without spending the earth.

The bungalow was very nice. Only faults I can find is 2 double glazed windows are blown and there is no socket near the mirror making drying and styling hair a little difficult. A dressing table or drawers would enhance.

Dirty and broken fridge. Mould in bathroom, stained shower curtain.Stained and poor quality pillows and quilt. Patio doors good but grass very long.Accsess to beach should be described in accommodation details.
