Located on the river Mawddach, this delightful, detached farmhouse makes a wonderful holiday home for all the family. Situated in a valley below the famous Precipice Walk, and with the Mawddach River running past, with private access to the river and trout fishing (free of charge, in season), there are stunning views all around. Inside you will find a large living room with wood burner, two TVs with access to Fibre Broadband, BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub and Netflix, and a seating area at each end. This room leads out into the spacious lawned garden, ideal for lazing in with a glass of wine or dining al fresco. The modern dining room features a warming wood burner and offers fantastic views of the surrounding hills from the picture windows.
The property is located in ideal walking country, near the Coed y Brenin Forest Centre. The Precipice Walk is a must for the far-reaching views. Visit the pretty town of Dolgellau, with a range of individual shops and delightful cafés and eateries. You can hire a bike or walk along the Mawddach Trail, which follows the trackbed of the old railway line to Barmouth, giving unique views of the Mawddach Estuary and the famous Barmouth Bridge. At Barmouth you’ll find an enormous sandy beach, so don’t forget to take your bucket and spade. No visit to North Wales would be complete without a ride on one of the Great Little Trains of Wales, and at Dol y Clochydd, you’re within easy reach of the Talyllyn Railway at Tywyn, the Bala Lake Railway at Llanuwchllyn and the Ffestiniog Railway which runs between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Blaenau Ffestiniog is also home to Zip World Titan, the largest zip wire zone in the world, and Bounce Below, the only place in the world where you can bounce on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern. Beach 10 miles. Shop and pub 3½ miles, restaurant 3 miles.

Brilliant for, kids dogs and large families. Plenty of room to have your own space the dogs loved the enclosed garden they exercised themselves chasing each other. The house is very rustic which adds to its charm , not too far did lots of stuff not much water in the river due to heatwaves , nobody wanted to leave would definitely book again.

Heavenly.Despite the drought, plenty of water in the river for swimming. Doggie bliss.Lovely gardens and grounds. Peaceful, can hear the road but not intrusive. Property was ideally situated for the cyclists, the runners, the walkers and swimmers. If you brave the precipice walk, you can look down at the property. Found some great places to eat but wise to book a table. Fast chargers for EVs in Dolgellau ✔️The road into the property is winding and narrow but a good surface. Take care at night, free roaming sheep.

Fantastic location, the enclosed garden and the river at the bottom were perfect.Lots of walks from the property, which wasn’t too fussy and was ideal to relax in with seven people and several dogs.The rooms are well set out, which enabled socialising and communal dining as well as peace and quiet if needed.Plenty of space to BBQ and we were able to swim, fish and canoe on the river in complete privacy.Well placed to visit attractions in the area and we did white water rafting and the zip wire at Penrhyn, which were excellent.One of the best family holidays we’ve had.
