What our customers say about their holidays

The accommodation was exactly as the photos led to believe (although the table was in the downstairs part of the flat and not upstairs).
The property was spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard. I would have liked a table upstairs (I took my laptop to get some work done) and more kitchen storage but these were minor inconveniences that didn't affect our enjoyment (as was the lack of wifi which doesn't reach from next door into the property - but I had plenty of mobile data to work with) The owners (and their dog) were very friendly and we bumped into them several times - and they had left several welcoming gifts (wine, cake, milk/tea/juice) which were gratefully received. There was adequate parking/turning space in front of the property and plenty of room to walk on the 'common' around the property. We used the property as a base to explore (with our dog) the Carding Mill and the Long Mynd, Ludlow and were rewarded with some fantastic views. We can also recommend Ludlow farm shop on the outskirts of Ludlow (although I'm not sure my waistline would agree))

We had a lovely quiet break away from all the stresses of life for a long weekend in August.
The apartment was small and cosy - just what we wanted. Kitchen area was fine and the shower was good. The views were outstanding, it was lovely to sit out and enjoy. The balcony area had glass all round so didn't not interfere with the view. Our dog Jake loved walking round the balcony. We particularly enjoyed our visits to both Ludlow and Bridgnorth. Owners were very friendly and approachable if needed. The cakes were a lovely treat too... The settee was not very comfortable, difficult to put the recliners down. The rear of the apartment outside could do with a tidy up. Could do with a decent sign at the bottom of the access lane if possible as we struggled to find it in the dark. The owners helped by coming down the access lane with a torch to guide us up to the house. However, we really enjoyed our stay and would def come again and recommend to others. Thank you

We had a very nice few days at Rowan Cottage.
Itâs quite remote and when we arrived our sat nav had taken us in a very isolated route across the valley through field gates on a one lane track, so we had no bearings as to where we were. We didnât fancy the thought of going out again to find a shop that sold milk for a cup of tea so, weâd highly recommend that a welcome pack is provided which includes milk. Otherwise please remember to bring your own! The cottage also runs on an Aga and this is the only oven and grill for cooking, other than an air fryer (which is excellent). We found toasting bread hard work and had to remember to put the kettle on to boil on the Aga the old fashioned way. Coffee drinkers have an excellent coffee machine but the water isnât hot enough for tea. As a get away from it all and slow the pace down location Rowan Cottage is brilliant and for that weâd highly recommend it.

Arrived with my border collie Mutley, and greeted by Dave, Sue and the adorable Roxie.
Shown around by Dave and was very impressed by how clean the place was, even to the point of being scared of touching anything! lol All facilities were easy to operate and settled in quite easily. though out week, we were left alone, but also enjoyed our friendly chats when we bumped into each other ... usually watching Roxie and Mutley playing together which can be seen on my youtube channel, search Colin badger Mutley on youtube for video :) Dave and Sue were both excellent on the local knowledge of the area, as its perfect for those that enjoy a walk and averaged 15 miles a day. Local shop just down the road, Ludlow and cleobury for drinks and food. Wish Dave and Sue all the best, see you again and a woof to Roxie off Mutley.

This is a really lovely cottage.
Clean, bright, well equipped and so welcoming. We visited during a cold week in February yet inside Rowan Cottage we were warm and cosy. The log burner was easy to light and threw out masses of heat and the Aga made it a pleasure to come into the kitchen both first thing and later on when we returned from our daysâ walking. We had great fun cooking on it. The area is full of footpaths and little lanes to explore on foot. We also enjoyed longer hikes over the Long Mynd (which is right behind the cottage) and Stiperstones. Leo and Romana who live next door were friendly but unobtrusive. We were sorry to leave after all that gorgeous peace and quiet. Thank you for our holiday.
