What our customers say about their holidays
David - Verified booking
We had a problem with the central heating as all the radiators went cold at 7.
30pm sent a text to the owner who came over after a few moments and she said its because the radiators were up to temperature as they had thermostatic valves. all the valves were set to 5 which is the highest they go the cottage was getting cold so it was not the valves, she had a look at the boiler which was not on despite it being on a timed programme and pressed a button to reset and the boiler restarted about 2 hours later we had to reset the boiler again ourselves and we had to keep doing this for the duration of the holiday sent the owner another text at 9.30am on Monday to say we have to keep resetting the boiler every 2 hours otherwise the radiators go off and the cottage goes cold, she came over again and said again its the thermostatic valves and that's how its set up despite the cottage being cold my mother who is 85 feels the cold could tell when the heating was going off and we had to keep an eye on the time to get ready to reset the boiler, there was a electric heater in the lounge so we had to put that on to get some heat in the lounge overall the cottage was nice and cosy just the heating was the problem

Chronic damp in en-suite bedroom.
Owners attempting to mask with diffuser. When one opens the wardrobe, it is overpowering. Very poor quality mattresses which belong at the tip. Twin beds are for children - not adults. Settee offered nil support when used. Heating system highly controlled with FIVE time settings which made tenants constantly have to override to achieve any warmth. Fourteen degrees at night? Why do owners think they can spend money on prettifying a property (lovely bathrooms) and then neglect the basics? Sykes property guidelines for potential owners specifically states there should be â no hint of dampâ and comfortable mattresses. We had to leave after three nights as unhealthy and uncomfortable. It isnât our job to carry out property inspections and we werenât prepared to have confrontation with owners over matters that cannot be rectified. The owner denies the property has a damp problem - really? Heating needs to be around 18-22 continuously to deal with damp. £700 for a week in October ? We completed our trip to the Gower in a lovely modern warm caravanâ¦â¦

A wonderfully clean, comfortable, well appointed cottage.
Everything was there to make our holiday go smoothly from the cottage itself to the really useful well equipped utility room to the fabulous games room. The touches of the fresh flowers to tea, coffee, milk, welshcakes etc were very welcome after a long drive. The owners have thoughtfully put a comprehensive folder together with everything to know and more about your stay and history of the cottages. There is also a good selection of tourist information in the games room. The games room itself is well stocked with books, board games, toys etc. We particularly loved playing table tennis. We have a full size table at home but at present have not the room to use it, so this was great. The nearby castles and gardens are a must to visit as well as Dinefwr House and the National Trust's Gold Mine. All in all a wonderful weeks holiday and will certainly recommend to family and friends. We loved Ollie the cat a 'purrfect' character!

Since I moved to Wales over 20 years ago, I have stayed in many self catering establishments both for work and play !
These cottages are part of a small group of barn conversions with a family home and courtyard. As I extended my stay I ended up staying in 2 of these cottages, all clean everything you could want good WIFi etc, Washing facilities and games room great too. They are named after 3 local Castles, the " garden " for visitors comprises of a large area of older woodland dominated by ancient oak trees large and small, ideal for families and their pets. Gavin and Josie are great hosts and part of that lies with their love of their own 2 Spaniels and they are happy for you to interact with them, which any dog owner would do. The setting, the high standard of accomodation and relaxed surroundings made it one of the best places I have stayed in.

The Old Dairy is a brilliant cottage to stay in, and by far the best we have ever experienced.
Lovely rear secure garden for our Darcey (Cockapoo) to investigate. Ideally situated to visit Rhoselli, Port Enyon and Oxwich Bay, which are all pet friendly beaches. Caroline and Huw have put a lot of work into making guests feel very comfortable, not to mention the scrumptious welcome tray for us humans as well as a treat for the pooch. I won't say what was on the tray as it would spoil the experience for further guests, let them have a lovely surprise! We certainly slept extremely well, must be a combination of the Welsh air, Welsh water and the extremely comfortable bed! The facilities in the cottage are second to none and we would definitely recommend it. We will hopefully be going back in the near future. Suzanne, Ray & Darcy
