What our customers say about their holidays
Benjamin - Verified booking
I booked two houses on the same street for a friendly reunion with old school friends who now live all over the world.
Upon entering the property I was impressed with its décor and cleanliness. Although I wasnât staying in the house myself, my friends did and by virtue of this, did spend lots of time within the property. And for the first two days, I did wonder why the property had such poor ratings in comparison to the other house we booked on the same street. I personally donât have much to comment on in regards of the stay, however I was extremely upset to wake up to a workman parked outside of the property on the Monday morning. I approached the man as he was starting to paint the house with wet, white paint, clearly not appropriate when children were playing. I asked him why he was there doing such a job, and he replied that the owners had told him the house was empty. He said the owners have told him to come here in the past and the house has been occupied, however, holiday tenants had let him continue to paint. I expressed that I was not going to be one of those people and I though it was incredibly disrespectful to action maintenance works on a property that was being occupied. I manage property myself, and these works should be done in winter or when the house is empty. If the works need to be carried out in the summer months, then the owners should book a week from the website to do this work and should absolutely not be done when the property has been paid for. Itâs incredibly rude, self-serving, selfish and unprofessional. I was not going to ask my friends children to stop playing and to avoid the wet walls of a house when they have paid a lot of money for the use of this house for a holiday stay, itâs a completely ridiculous expectation, I was absolutely shocked. The gentleman thanked me for the conversation, shook my hand and left. Just over an hour later, after getting out of the shower, I noticed yet another van parked outside the house, with the boot open and two men walking towards the house with window cleaning equipment. My two friends were in the garden in bikinis with their naked infant children playing in the garden. Now, this was not only personally very triggering for me, but was an absolutely inappropriate situation to find us in. I was not informed about these men coming, I donât know if theyâve been DBS checked, I have no idea who these men are. Now, after rushing across the road post shower to have yet another confrontation. I found myself half naked, talking to two much older men, one of which was very old, the other, quite aggressive in his facial expression and stance. I expressed to these men that we were paying customers in the house and we donât want any non-priority maintenance work happening on the house whilst we stay there. To which I was met with distain and a lack of understanding. The younger man made it very clear he was going to continue with the cleaning of the windows and I left. I had to watch my friends and their children enter the house on a sunny day and draw the blinds whilst these men cleaned the windows. I felt completely disrespected, unheard and invalidated for asking these men to leave. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional. We shouldnât have to censor what we do around complete strangers whilst staying in a rented holiday home. I was absolutely disgusted that not only these works had been booked in on a week that it was occupied but that were not warned these works were going ahead. Also, when trying to stop the works from continuing, I was met with quite frankly, an aggressive reaction from one of the men (the older man was actually very sweet and didnât say anything.) These works should not only be happening, and most importantly, I should not have had to have these confrontational conversations when Iâm on holiday. I was supposed to be relaxing with my friends and quite frankly, I did not enjoy my remaining days of my holiday last week, it put me in quite a sad and deflated state of mind. I had to spend the whole of Monday on my won, away from my friends managing my own emotions surrounding the feelings that were evoked from these circumstances and interactions. I expect either a full or partial refund for this stay and a personal apology via email from the owners of this property. I will not be booking this house again.

Fantastic property.
Supremely comfortable, beautifully decorated, with an unparalleled outside area (space, shelter from wind, view and proximity to beach and club). We loved staying here. Unfortunately we were somewhat disappointed by some aspects, which included: Our vehicle details not being forwarded to security, making it unduly difficult to access the site. Zero club access without significant extra payment. This is somewhat ambiguous on the advert, more clear once youâve booked (& paid) Half the deck furniture shown is not present (hammock and egg chair) We questioned this and never received a response. If itâs not going to be there, donât show it. Property has three security âRingâ cameras, whilst they are towards the back, for security primarily, are somewhat unnerving. Property has only one key! Positioned in a hard to find / difficult to open (old) box (especially when owners Land Rover is parked adjacent to it). Understand security concerns, but if guests that dishonest, they could just get another key cut to keep (we nearly did, to give you a spare) Overall, the place is fantastic (should be, itâs expensive) Little things let it down slightly, which are disappointing, as they could, so easily, be fixed. That said, weâd definitely come back to Abersoch / The Warren/ H5

We had a wonderful week away.
The property is beautiful. The owner contacted us prior to our arrival and provided us with some useful information and was more than happy to help with a few queries I had. On arrival there were no issues getting through the ANPR controlled gates, we provided all 3 car registrations and all got through no problem. On arrival the property was clean and tidy both inside and out. We did find that we were all using the ensuite shower as itâs a lot more powerful than the one in the shared bathroom. Beds were super comfy. Sofa was too low for my grandma to use but we piled some cushions up and she was fine. Outdoor shower was very handy for getting any sand off before heading indoors. Washer and dryer were easy to use. Access to the beach is just round the corner via a narrow sandy path. The outdoor pool area was perfect, non slip flooring and no steps just walk in. Heated to at least 28/30oc and the small shallow pool must have reached 40oc easily! It was like getting into a hot tub!! Sadly as we went in June and not peak season the pool would close at 5pm but then you can go enjoy another 3 hours of sunshine on the beach. Only been back home 24hours and have booked to stay again next year. Thank you for a wonderful holiday, hereâs to many more to come.

This is the second time this year that I have stayed in this property.
I only stayed this time as I had already booked and loss of deposit etc. The property is tired, several lights don't work, the main door handle / mechanism is faulty and difficult to operate, the freezer needs de-icing badly (cant open the doors). The fire/heater in the lounge doesn't work (or the remote to control it is faulty), the shaving / mirror light in the bathroom doesn't work. Most of these problems existed several months ago, last time I stayed, which indicates a general lack of maintenance and effort to make the property functional for renters. Furthermore, during both stays I provided the car registration details, as requested, but this is pointless as The Warren take no notice of the information. This means that each time you enter the park you have to discuss your booking with security.

Basic items were missing - bath mats, oven gloves (surely these 2 items are basic health and safety), tea towel, bottle opener, hand soap (not ideal in covid times).
There was no where to wash/wipe sandy feet as entering the house (I notice other houses has an outside tap at the front). No recycling bins - again other houses had these.... All doors are stiff and only lock with force. Main bedroom on floor 1 has thin white curtains which do not block the light from the street light directly outside the window and of course the natural day light at 5am. Very little sleep was had - not what I want on a holiday. The cot ordered was not left as agreed - I had to drive to pick one up from the local office and was rudely asked to bring it back without a thought for the inconvenience this caused me. All these things added up to a most un-enjoyable stay and we will NOT be booking again. Abersoch itself is lovely but this house has truly let you down.
