  What a delightful cottage! And so easy to book online! Great aspect and we didn't mind the short walk to the church car park - we visited the church before leaving: Recommended. Had the best of both worlds as the cottage is low ceilings and timber beams, crooked walls and floors, not one stair matches another, all very quaint, whilst the kitchen is new and full of mod-cons. Plenty of lovely fluffy towels of varying sizes; lots of kitchen tea towels (and a pinny!). We all found the beds comfy, and slept really well. The little garden was perfect for our dog, contained her yet permitted a little nosy at the neighbours in the driveway behind. I was quite happy sitting there in the morning sun with my dog and a cuppa whilst the teenagers did what teenagers do: wasted the morning sleeping! We found the cottage well placed to visit the North Devon beaches and coastal towns, non of which were too far away. The narrow roads were interesting and we seemed to have no problems despite visiting during the height of the season. We love it! It took no time to feel like home. Thank you for having us.   Stepcott Cottage was even better than we expected. There was nothing we needed during our stay that was not provided and the quality of the furnishings and facilities were high. Lovely fresh linens and fluffy towels were provided. Gas central heating and a beautiful fire in the lounge were very welcome on wild November evenings! The cottage is very close to the town centre with pubs, restaurants and shops for provisions just a short walk away. It was our first trip away with our young labrador and it worked out really well, with rear access to the property via a utility room to clean her (and us) up after a hectic day at the breath-taking dog-friendly beaches nearby. We took a dog crate with us for her to sleep in but there was a small dog bed provided for a smaller, more sedate pooch! There is also a small grassy recreation area just at the end of the road.   This was our first visit to North Devon and it will certainly not be our last. Stepcott Cottage in the village of Braunton was the perfection location allowing us visit the superb beaches, Saunton Sands, Croyde, Woolacombe along with the many other North Devon attractions. The accommodation was ideal for our party of 3 along with Percy the pooch! It really was a bonus to find so many dog friendly beaches, cafes and restaurants. Braunton has a great selection of restaurants all within walking distance of Stepcott. We enjoyed all out meals but special mention must go to Squires Fish & Chips, The Williams Arms and The George Inn. We enjoyed our holiday so much we will be back to Devon and Stepcott Cottage.   The cottage was amazing, beautifully laid out, wonderfully comfortable, very clean and warm. The kitchen has everything you would need for a family stay. The location is perfect for exploring the North Devon countryside. We took the grandchildren to The Dino / Animal Park, Watermouth Castle, Exmoor zoo, Westwood Hoe beach. We were also fortunate to stop and lunch at Heanton Court, which was wonderful, the children loved the very large beer garden , the food was very good value so much so we returned for a second time later in the week. Our overall holiday was a complete pleasure, our host were wonderful, the location perfect we could not have asked for more.

  I have not been back to Braunton in over 18 years and I wanted to bring my little family there to show them where my nan and grandad lived and all the things I used to do on my holidays down there. The cottage was perfect and the location was spot on to be able to go to all the places we wanted to go. Lovely fresh linen and fluffy white towels were great. Parking on site was an extra bonus and being within 1 minute of the village was fantastic. Lovely independent shops and some fantastic eateries on hand offering a wide range of choice for yummy food to eat. Will definitely be recommending the cottage to friends and family and would definitely book again.
