  We have stayed in Rye a few times so knew the location of this cottage would be perfect for us; it's just on the edge of the town centre so restaurants,cafes and shops are just a few minutes walk. Having a good sized car parking space in front of the house was a bonus and we could just jump in the car for a 5 minute drive to the harbour ; perfect for long dog walks and amazing coffee/cake at the visitor centre. Playing fields are also only a 5 minute walk away. The house itself is stylish, surprisingly spacious very comfortable and well equipped; the owners have really tried to think of everything and to offer guests a luxury stay from a coffee machine with pods, welcome hamper and excellent showers and beds. The upside down configuration of the house works really well as the living area is light and airy with a lovely view across the river. The house does have a few steps between kitchen and lounge and a fairly steep staircase ( typical of a terrace cottage) but it was not a problem for us. This is a gem of a property and we look forward to returning.

  Providence Cottage is a beautiful property in a great location in Rye, with everything you could want on the doorstep. The cottage was clean and well equipped and there was a lovely welcome pack with goodies left by the owners which gave us a real sense of being welcomed to the property. There was lots to do within close proximity to Rye and ideal as a base for us to explore the area with a young family. We contacted the owners about an issue while we were there and they we really helpful and efficient in sorting it. The only reason we have put “good” and not “very good” for being child friendly is the very steep stairs which would be tricky with very young children- but this is mentioned in the information in the website. Our boys (12 and 9 years) loved it!

  We enjoyed our stay in Providence Cottage; it is just inside the citadel walls. With a dog, walks are easily accessible. The garden is long and thin but catches the sun nicely in the afternoon; cushions for the garden furniture were helpful. We found the double bed comfortable. Excellent notes and suggestions from the owners and a generous 'welcome pack' including lovely flowers! Parking is not a problem as we were advised to use the main town car park £2/24 hrs. Rye is a beautiful friendly town and we enjoyed Camber Sands, Rye Nature Reserve, Brede Woods, lots of pubs, tea room & restaurants just nearby, wonderful small independent shops, and Nineteen for a massage!

  This is a delightful, quirky, Grade 2 listed cottage with charming interior decor. The front is so attractive, with its display of geraniums, that we saw other visitors taking photos of it. The pretty garden is small, but definitely big enough, and a sun trap in the afternoon. There is a good supply of cookware and an eclectic mix of plates, glasses and cutlery, as well as the usual kitchen appliances in the tiny but more than adequate kitchen. The cottage is close to all amenities - shops, pubs, restaurants, etc. - but off the main drag, so quiet at night. This is a lovely cottage in the charming town of Rye and we loved our time there.

  Quayside Cottage is a beautifully presented holiday home in a great location for the town and amenities. Very comfortable beds and spacious rooms. The attention to detail ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The welcome basket was much appreciated. We were spoilt for choice with so many pubs, cafes and restaurants to choose from and most were very accepting of dogs. We enjoyed just walking around the pretty town and exploring. Trips to nearby Hastings, historic Battle and Camber Beach are also recommended. We hope to return to Rye and would definitely stay at the cottage again. Fabulous weekend break.
