What our customers say about their holidays
Linda - Verified booking
This is a lovely holiday house and very well equipped.
However on our 4th night there, at 9.45 pm while we were playing a card game, a very angry neighbour knocked on the door and complained that we were making too much noise and had disturbed him the previous evening by returning at 11.30 pm and staying up late. We had had no idea that the noise level would have been so audible to him. For the rest of the week we kept conversation to a minimum inside the house, and went to bed early. The house accommodates six comfortably, and 6 people on holiday are likely to make some noise. I am 67 years old and I and my husband were holidaying with other family members. I think it is fair to say we made a normal amount of noise for people on holiday. I completely understand that this could be annoying for neighbours if the building structure allows for noise to carry. This incident rather spoilt our holiday as we were upset at the thought of enraging the neighbour. I think at the point of booking it should be made clear that holidaymakers will need to be quiet inside the house and go to bed early. Had this been the case I would have booked another property. We did receive written requests to respect neighbours when I had paid the balance due and there was an instruction for no outdoor noise after 10 pm in the booklet on arrival at the house, both of which we thought we complied with. But I think we needed the information before we booked. I have stayed in holiday cottages for all of my adult life in a range of settings and have never encountered this problem before, as I and my family are considerate and do not make excessive noise. However, people on holiday are there to relax and enjoy themselves, which we found difficult to do whilst at the property after the incident with the neighbour. The house is excellent, but the sound of holidaymakers obviously is a nuisance to at least one neighbour, which is a shame for both sets of people. This needs to be flagged up before people book.

The house is big with plenty of space.
Kitchen and wet areas well supplied with all you need. Hot tub is great. However, routine maintenance and DIY repairs are not top of their list! The major problem for us was an infestation of flies which we had to deal with ourselves! Hundreds of flies entering the en-suite until we found where they were getting in and fixed it with no help from the owners except for 2 cans of flyspray. On the first night I saw flies gathered in the en-suite velux window so asked my son to open it to let the flies out - BIG mistake - when he opened it - hundreds of flies dropped on us and also entered the bedroom. It was like a horror movie! We didn't contact the owner because we know they were out celebrating a birthday but later when I did ask them to come and fill the hole in the ceiling where they were getting in, they left 2 cans of flyspray on the doorstep and said we should expect it in the country! We ended up taping over the hole in the ceiling. Every time, for 4 days out of 6, if I wanted to use the en-suite I had to vacuum up all the dead flies then spray fly killer as I left. Radiators needed bleeding - Pool table was broken - some door catches stick and trap youngsters in rooms - lounge sofa springs gone - thin towels - some beds hard. Not at all what you expect in such an expensive property. I complained and asked for a partial refund which was refused so I am now taking the matter to County Court. We will not be returning

We stayed at this property for 1 week 25-1 August, we as in 2 adults and 3 teenage boys.
The property was perfect for us, with a large bedroom downstairs with sofa bed and double bed with TV and two doubles with en-suite upstairs. The beds were extremely comfortable and clean and we all slept incredibly well, plenty of towels were also provided which smelt lovely. When we arrived we were welcomed with a lovely hamper of deliciousness which really set the holiday off nicely. The property itself was very clean and modern, with nice touches all throughout including nice handwash, shower gel etc. The facilities were excellent, washing machine etc - we had everything we needed. The owner kept in contact the entire duration and any issues or enquiries we had were dealt with straight away. The house is located in a stunning location, just a 5 minute stroll to the castle, shops and harbour. I must say I enjoyed my daily morning run around the harbour and town. The town itself has some lovely shops and a wonderful ice-cream shop, the boys loved crabbing at the harbour. It was also a short drive to Snowdonia, where Zip world is located and the boys loved it there we went on the Coaster and Bounce Below it was great fun. It is also a very short drive to many beaches etc, North Wales is stunning. We had the perfect holiday thank you so much to see and do. Melissa and the Boys!!

Kitchen area wasn't as clean as it should have been.
There had apparently been a problem the previous week with the oven and it was being replaced as we arrived. We found somewhere to park up and went for a walk to allow the workmen to finish the job. When we returned they had gone but the old oven and packaging had been left on the patio outside the back door. I managed to move it further away into the garden area but it was there all week (not the nicest view through the patio door) The hob was very dirty. It seems this was also to have been replaced but the wrong size had been sent. This could be the reason it wasn't cleaned but I have to say the build up of grease that I had to scrub off was from more than a week or two. Bread bin, microwave and fridge were also in need of cleaning before use. Bathroom, bedroom and living areas were all clean and well presented. Previous holiday makers had reported problems with the tv remote, doorbell not working, fridge/freezer needing defrosting all of which still needed attention. That said the property is in a very convenient spot, nicely furnished and well equipped and we had a lovely week despite some very wet weather.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Coed y Felin and had the best time.
I can't find any fault with the property at all. It is clean, well maintained and super comfortable. Vanessa the owner is very helpful and approachable. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of crockery, utensils and equipment which was a real bonus. Having the three lovely bathrooms was also a great bonus. Location wise, the house could not be better situated. It's in walking distance to all the delights of Conwy, with it's beautiful town, castle, marina, harbour and beach: you can see the castle from the house. There are two big supermarkets only four minutes drive away. Conwy is a beautiful place to walk and explore with many other places in close proximity. We enjoyed trips to The Great Orme in Llandudno, The Swallow Falls in Betwys y Coed, Beaumaris on the island of Anglesey and to LLanberis where we walked up to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). The city of Banghor is only just over twenty minutes away. There are many great places to eat in Conwy and we had just the best fish and chips ever at "Woosey's catch of conwy. All in all, we had a great time and will definitely return.
